On September 2, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) repelled an ISIS attack on its newly captured positions in al-Moror district in the western part of Raqqa city.
According to Kurdish sources, the SDF killed 19 ISIS fighters and destroyed an ISIS VBIED during the clashes in al-Moror district.
The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters killed 10 SDF fighters during their attack on al-Moror district.
On September 1, Amaq published photos of the clashes near al-Salam hospital in the center of Raqqa city.
US-led coalition warplanes conducted more than 73 airstrikes on Raqqa city in the last 48 hours, according to opposition sources.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said that the US-led collation targeted al-Mouwasa Hospital in the center of Raqqa city on August 29.
According to Kurdish sources, the next target of the SDF is the “security square” in the center of Raqqa city. The “security square” is the area where all ISIS institutions and headquarters are supposedly located.
‘US-led coalition warplanes conducted more than 73 airstrikes on Raqqa city in the last 48 hours’, – and still struggling to capture the city. A lot has been said about Air Superiority, about Precision Weapons, – where are they now?
I think, they have problems to find their targets.
To find a lone sniper, a VBIED before it starts up, a deep tunnel, that is not easy, see Mosul. The presence of civillians complicates bombing.
As IS now retains only some 25% of the city, SDF is doing well, the more so when one considers SDF already took the old city, which was last in Mosul.
