The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed up by the US-led collation, repelled an ISIS attack on its positions in of al-Musherfah and Eastern Owjil north of the ISIS-held city of Raqqah. SDF fighters destroyed two ISIS VBIEDs and an armored vehicle and captured another one. Three SDF fighters were injured during the attack. 6 ISIS members were killed.
The SDF released a statement announcing that in the last 10 days its forces captured over 164km2, killed more than 79 ISIS fighters and captured 5 ISIS members. The SDF was reportedly able to destroy or capture a dozen of ISIS vehicles and VBIEDs.
From its side ISIS launched an attack on SDF positions west of al-Kharamah in the Raqqah countryside. ISIS claimed that more than 30 SDF fighters were killed and 4 vehicles and a bulldozer belonging to the group were destroyed.
Meanwhile, clashes continue inside and around al-Sfsafeh east of the Tapqa city as SDF fighters try to capture this strategic town. US fighter jets carried out dozens of airstrikes inside and around the town so far targeting ISIS positions.
