The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), mostly Kurdish YPG and some Arab units, have seized villages of Shaykh Nasir and Qurtwiran from the ISIS terrorist group. The villages are located west of the recently liberated city of Manbij in Syria’s Aleppo province. The move followed previous SDF advances in the area aimed to set the ground for sotrm of another important ISIS stronghold, Al Bab.
This week, Pentagon has commented the liberation of Manbij by the SDF, confirming that this had became possible due to an agreement with ISIS (read more here).
