The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) destroyed several vehicles belonging to terrorist groups in the countryside of Idlib, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on July 16.
The vehicles were targeted in response to recent attacks, the ministry said in a statement, noting that a number of terrorists were killed in the strikes.
The ministry usually uses the term “terrorist groups” to refer to al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies who control the Greater Idlib region. The region includes vast parts of the Idlib countryside, where the strikes took place.
In the same statement, the ministry said that the SAA shot down several drones which were launched by the terrorist groups from the countryside of Idlib.
Video footage released by the ministry showed six vehicles being targeted with what appears to be FPV suicide drones as well as the werkcage of several quad-copter and fix-wing drones which were shot down by the SAA.
HTS and its allies escalated their attacks in recent weeks amid renewed efforts to renormalize relations between Turkey, who maintains a large force in Greater Idlib, and the Damascus government. These efforts are reportedly being led by Russia.
The recent attacks, which violate a ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey more than four years ago, appear to be an attempt to sabotage Syrian-Turkish talks.

it appears the terrorist groups are mere irritants and syria should probably concentrate on culling the jews seriously. the jews seem to have syria as a secondary target when the cowardly jews, that needs to be culled to extinction in palestine, find that hezbollah is too tough a nut to crack.
