On September 16, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) raised the Syrian flag over Muzayrib in the western countryside of Daraa signifying the success of the reconciliation agreement in the town.
Army troops entered Muzayrib a day earlier to implement the agreement, which was reached with help from Russia on September 14. A unit of the Russian Military Police was also deployed in the town.
Under the agreement, the SAA carried out a combing operation inside Muzayrib. Army troops searched for weapons and hideouts.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, around 240 gunmen from Muzayrib have joined the reconciliation process, so far. Many of them deserted the ranks of the SAA very recently.

Muzayrib was the second town in the western Daraa countryside to reach a reconciliation agreement with Syrian authorities. The first town to do so was al-Yadudah. These deals were reached thanks to the success of the recent reconciliation agreement in Daraa al-Balad, the southern part of Daraa city.
More towns in the western Daraa countryside will reportedly join the reconciliation process in the upcoming few days. Local leaders of the town of Tal Shihab, located right next to Muzayrib, are already in talks with Syrian authorities.
