The Russian-backed Syrian security operation against ISIS cells in the town of Jasim in the western countryside of Daraa has been concluded.
The active phase of the operation came to an end on October 20. On the same day, Syrian forces began combing the town. Several hideouts of ISIS were blown up on October 22. Later on October 25, loads of weapons which were either captured from terrorists, or found at their hideouts were showcased.
The seized weapons included dozens of assault and sniper rifles, heavy machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and loads of ammunition.
The Syrian military, intelligence and several Russian-backed groups of local fighters launched the security operation on October 14. The operation was a response to the October 13 bus bombing in the capital, Damascus, which claimed the lives of 18 soldiers. ISIS cells in Jasim were reportedly behind the terrorist attack.
In the course of the operation, more than 20 terrorists of ISIS were eliminated. Many of the slain terrorists were senior commanders of the group.
The security operation ended ISIS presence in Jasim. However, the terrorist group is still present and active in other parts of Daraa.
Currently, the Syrian military is amassing its forces near the town of al-Yadudah, which is also located in the western Daraa countryside. The military could launch a security operation in the town very soon. Locals in al-Yadudah have been informed of ISIS presence in their town by the intelligence.
Good work. As long as the US scum is present at Al Tanf, there will be no security in southern Syria. I hope at some point Syria will be able to wipe out the US scum.
What a waste of US tax payer money
Brave buggers going up against those weapons
