Pro-government forces have continued their operation in the Syrian desert clearing the areas of Tayyara, al-Bawdah, Wadi al-Luwayziyah and nearby points at the border with Iraq from ISIS cells.
Earlier, government troops cleared the areas of Bi’r Tayyarah, Bi’r Um Salabikh, Kabt Mount, Tell Shadid, Abar Warak and Bir Atshan from ISIS units in the Homs-Deir Ezzor desert.
Units of the Syrian Army and other pro-government groups also met with the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) at the Syrian-Iraqi border, southeast of the village of Humaimah.

They are too far away. Al Tanf is closer. The area is the volcanic rock strewn part of the desert I think.
Just small positive signals. The REAL problem remains the fact that the SAA hasn’t an effective SAM-system to counter NATO & Israeli air-attacks. The Russian passivity in this matter is at least “a twilight-zone”
How is it a twilight zone? Russia is at least as closely allied to Israel as it is to Syria. Thats the reason. Isreal does not want state of the art air-defense in Syria, because it fears that the Shia-Axis would buid up troops and structures under its cover and the Kreml is not going to antagonize Israel.

The reserve currency is the ticket. Already Russia has dumped half of it’s T-bills. I doubt very seriously Trump is trying to destroy the US dollar and economy, just like I doubt that ALL Jews are Zionists or ALL Muslims are Jihadis. So no, I don’t buy your argument. I do believe that the Trump administration’s actions (sanctions, tariffs) might have the unplanned side effect of accelerating the demise of the reserve currency just like the US Deep State’s actions on behalf of Israel in the region to weaken Iran have yielded the opposite effect.
Israel does not want state of the art air-defense in Syria because that will stop Israel to attack whenever it wants to Syria. I am allowed to attack you any time but your are not allowed to defense yourself.
