Amid heavy clashes in northern Aleppo, northern Latakia, Damascus area and in other areas of the war-torn country, the command of the Syrian government troops has announced a 72-hour truce across entire Syria.
The message was released by the Syrian state-run news agency SANA on July 6.
“The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces announced on Wednesday that a truce (regime of silence) is enforced across Syria for 72 hours,” the message reads.
The report says that “the truce will last from 1:00 am, July 6th until midnight, July 8th.”
SF Editor: There are not enough info to make a conclusion. However, it’s obvious that clashes are ongoing despite this statement
All I can say is that I don’t understand this. To me it seems incomprehensible. What am I missing?

^ this should have been mentioned in the article (editors note)
(the Ramadan thing not the “ceasefire” violations)
You are right. It’s added. Thank you.
End of Ramadan…
They are probably afraid of counter attacks and hope to gain time to consolidate.
Truce means nothing as far as most of the fighting goes. End of ramadan seems more plausible however, in the next 72 hours alot of SAA soldiers will be back on the front line. A so called truce allows these soldiers to get settled back in and the commanders get things back organized. Also with the end of ramadan comes the end of massive reinforcements for all the terrorist groups. Most will literally go home, having fulfilled their month of fun…
Happened every year for the past 4-5 years…
