Syrian government forces, led by the Tiger Forces, have liberated more areas from ISIS terrorists in the province of Raqqah. Government troops have taken control over the Waheb oil field, and the villages of Ragam Hurah and Bir As Safiyah. Thus, government forces have deployed closer to the important crossroad village of Resafa.
Very nice :))) I just wish they eventually retake durayhim military base, tabqa airbase and ammala and habbari oil/gas facilities :)))
Looking forward to the winter, the Syrians should have more fuel to keep warm, run hospitals, schools and get the economy running again. Perhaps the refugees will start trickling back too.
I sure hope so :)))
I doubt the refugees will start going back. Most of them are sunni hardliners that are more interested in destroying europe than going home and fixing their crap.
Lmao a very accurate description
Sectarian crap and anyway, if they wanted to destroy Europe, all they have to do is nothing, the Euro-US boss class is doing it for them.
For now, SAA should concentrate on ISIS, than FSA and mean time Assad should make deal with Russia for S-400, Pantsir, verba manpad, Air Plan and all kind helicopters, 9M133 Kornet, howitzer and more TOS-1
You must be kidding, aren’t you? Where do you think the Syrian state has the money for this rather expensive weaponry? They do not have enough money to pay and motivate their soldiers, let alone purchase military equipment. Besides, I doubt the Syrian personnel has the skills to make the most of this advanced weapon systems;
Well, those oil wells and gas that were recently captured can be a good source of income
Sure :))
the SAA has problem to beat isis. here bombastic title, liberated more areas. the reality – several km2. liberation of whole syria needs more then 200 000 saa troops. as i see, it is impossible.
They may let them use them for free at least for the duration of the war, and beyond that, up to Russia I guess :)
Yes for sure :))
Better hurry and isolate the kurds as much as possible… isis is already defeated… the next opponent is gonna be the kurds…
Unfortunately, but SAA needs to isolate the SDF, as the Kurds being to much influenced by the americans. SAA should continue its advances till they reach Resafa
I think you right, but Kurds will never stand with almighty tiger forces under leadership of Husien. One thing will happen between Kurds and Syria army ,they will bring their allies which will start world war three because US will face Russia.
No, I doubt it. Now that quatar has been hung out to dry, it is apparent that the pipeline thru syria issue is dead. This means that there is no real reason to be in syria other than for cleanup of isis. My prediction: trump will declare victory after the “liberation” of raqqa. And then will pull out, leaving the kurds out to dry. He has to for several reasons: supporting the kurds is a obama idea, not US policy, he has mentioned them only once “they are great fighters”, supporting the kurds could be used against him in 2020 if he continues support once isis is defeated. Turkey, iraq, syria and apparently, to some extent, iran and russia, do not want the kurds there either. It’s almost guranfuckinteed that at some point, the kurds are gonna get the plug pulled on them and it will be all over… This whole talk about ww3 hysteria is just that: hysteria…
The Kurds have been a question mark for a while, but I must say I’ve stopped worrying about them. The way the Kurdish and Syrian forces treat each other seems quite cordial. I know US (Obama) idea was to use Kurds as the destabiliser and possibly create a permanent conflict by giving them independent state. But surely the Kurds and Assad are in constant communication and know each others’ positions very well. Maybe the early position was that the Kurds said well if you are going to fall we are going to make sure we don’t. Assad: Fair enough! I mean the Kurds had a good life in Syria, and they never joined the “rebels” anyway. If they have any political nous they realise that their best chance is within secular Syria. No doubt the Saudis and other scumbags will try to “convert” them into some hare-brained scheme. I hope they don’t get hooked.
y got all wrong on Kurds 10 feb. 2016 – Syrian Kurdish separatists opened a mission in Moscow on Wednesday, in a bid to secure Kremlin backing for an autonomous Kurdish region…
autonomy is good thing for minorities.
Autonomous regions usually manage their own affairs, including economy, industry and tourism, few other things. But they don’t usually have their own army, foreign policy or monetary policy. So an autonomous region within Syria is conceivable, without having a war between SAA and YPG/SDF. The Kurds mission in Moscow of course doesn’t mean that they have autonomy already. More like a statement of intent.
eh….. no. Remember when they were selling isis oil? They still are. They are also directly allied with the “FSA”, you can even see pictures of them with the kurdish flag and “FSA” flag side by side. Remember hasaka…. Never turn your back on the communist kurd….
The Iraqi Peshmega are the Kurds involved in selling ISIS oil , not Syrian Kurds . Like any people , there are many factions . They are currently flying under the SDF banner , which the Americans temporarily have media control over . American photos of flags together , is a “false flag “.
I respect your views and you may be right, but I wouldn’t read too much into this. Hasaka shooting incident: these can happen for variety of reasons (including provocations by secret agents – such as Israeli agents in Iraq shooting at American soldiers, and also shooting civilians to foment communal tensions) and do not necessarily reflect policy or leadership stance. Trigger happy locals perhaps. FSA flag: terrible PR that’s for sure, but in the end I need to see something more substantial, e.g. like White Helmets base being right next to Nusra HQ in Aleppo. I don’t think they share offices just yet. Oil: yes it’s a crime, but not quite a war crime. Yes, they sell illegally extracted oil. It is complicated in a confused insurgency war where some groups try to annihilate your people and others are offering weapons and an independent state if you turn against what was your own country! Sometimes there are only bad options. Syrian economy collapsed due to the war, Syrian army could not help militarily. Oil will be sold Kurds or no Kurds, it is a tough situation. Until I see them making repeated statements to the contrary I will give them the benefit of the doubt! (And hope that you are not right in this instance.) Peace man.
Well… It’s like the old saying: Where theres smoke, theres fire…
goingbrokes My money is on your overview of the Kurds , until they move against SAA , they are Syrian and allies against ISIS . While ISIS is near the end , its not yet accomplished , and every day it remains not totally defeated in Syria , it serves as an excuse for the US to invade . For Syria to start anything against the Kurds would be to further divide troops and resources foolishly . A major reason SAA is winning at present is they have beaten Al Qaeda in the west into a mess , and have been able to focus on ISIS .
You are all mistaken. The entire war in Syria is to Balkanize it. The Kurdistan project has been running for more than 20 years and Israel is the driver. It will destabilize Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. Daesh is just a diversion and is expendable.
Thanks, most people on this site are aware of the attempt to balkanise Syria, so your first sentence is superfluous. We have different opinions here se we can’t ALL be mistaken! The present question really is whether the Kurds will bite on the hook that is being dangled in front of their face. And as you say, they would ignite a generational conflict which would give US ample reason to keep troops in the region for at least 30 years. The Kurdistan question is a hope for the invaders, but a small highly militarised state along the Euphrates is a short term goal for the zionists, the Gulf monarchies and the corporate globalists.
