On August 11, ISIS terrorists ambushed units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) 4th Division and Liwa al-Quds, a pro-government Palestinian group, in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside.
The terrorists ambushed a convoy of Liwa al-Quds near the town of al-Tabni. Reinforcements from the 4th Division were dispatched to the attack scene, where they were targeted with improvised explosive devices.

Opposition sources claimed that three Syrian service members were killed in the ambush. However, only one casualty was verified.
In the last few months, pro-government forces conducted a series of combing operations in southern and western Deir Ezzor. The most recent operation was carried out by Iranian-backed forces on August 6.
Despite these operations, ISIS terrorists regularly launch attacks on southern and western Deir Ezzor from the nearby Homs desert. The terrorists reportedly receive support from U.S.-backed fighters in the southeastern region of al-Tanaf.

Thats why i mentioned Choppers and drones,also they should use highly mobile and heavily armed special forces units to do recon and destroy those rats if they make contact,the British SAS and long range desert group used those tactics against the Afrika Korps in WW2,and did a devastating job,some things never change and that tactic is one of them,i really hope they are not just sending convoys down those roads with no back up.
