The Syrian authorities are ready to allow experts and representatives of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to examine the Shayrat airbase in the Syrian province of Homs, which was struck by US missiles, and “promote their work in every way,” the RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy.

In their turn, Russian military have promised to ensure the experts’ safety.

“We are ready to provide any opportunities, provide security and grant admittance for independent experts and representatives of the OPCW to the Shayrat airfield for an expert examination. Experts know that it is impossible to conceal traces of chemical weapons,” Rudskoy said.

He also noted that two facilities for production and storage of chemical weapons are located on the Syrian territory, controlled by the so-called ‘moderate’ opposition, while all such facilities had been destroyed on the territory, controlled by the Syrian authorities.

“Destruction of 10 of the 12 facilities, used for storage and production of chemical weapons, was confirmed by OPCW experts. The Syrian authorities do not have access to the two remaining facilities, as they are located on the territory, controlled by the so-called opposition. For this reason, the OPCW cannot confirm the fact of destruction of chemical weapons on them,” the Colonel General said.

According to Rudskoy, Syrian terrorists also actively use chemical weapons of handicraft production on the territory of the Arab country.

“At the same time, instances of the usage of chemical weapons by militants, including of handicraft production, were spotted. Investigation materials for some of them were transferred to representatives of the OPCW,” he said.

The Colonel General noted that militants bring chemical agents to several areas of Syria in order to provoke new US strikes against Syria.

“According to the information we have, militants are currently bringing chemical agents to the areas of Khan Shaykhun, Jira airfield, Eastern Ghouta and to the west of the city of Aleppo. The purpose of these actions is to create another reason for accusing the Syrian government of using chemical weapons and provoking new strikes by the US,” Rudskoy said.

He also added that militants used the US missile strike on the Shayrat airbase and attacked Syrian troops in the area of Palmyra, but all the attacks were repelled. The Colonel General noted that “two tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles and eight pick-up trucks with large-caliber machine guns” of militants were destroyed, while “over 150 terrorists” were killed in the attack.

Rudskoy stressed that Russia demands a thorough investigation of the incident with chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun. He reminded that the US leadership did not wait for results of the investigation on Khan Shaykhun and, “on April 7, gave an order to carry out a missile strike on the Shayrat airfield in violation of the international law.”

The Colonel General said that the accusations of using chemical weapons by the Syrian authorities are questionable. He added that “more and more authoritative experts and organizations are inclined to the opinion on the fabricated nature of the filming” in Khan Shaykhun.

It’s time to put up or shut up. Either have OPCW investigate the airfield or shut up. Since sarin is made from metallic salts which are not degradable, either they are there or not. To determine their presence is straight forward (no fancy tests needed) and can be done in days.

Will this offer be mentioned in the Western press? HELL NO It does not agree with the MSM propaganda being fed to the public. Looks like the Trump administration is being foolish and short sighted.

There was something left out of this article which would make it more balanced.

It was left out that of the two (sometimes three) un-destroyed production facilities under the control of the jihadists, the Syrians stated these were old facilities and everything had already been removed. One was in the town of al-Safira, SE of Allepo, and the other facility was in the Damascus governorate. It’s doubtful that either side has the ability to make methylphosphonyl difluoride in the quantities needed. All the other sites were inspected, everything removed and then destroyed. It’s unstable, corrosive and takes special equipment and chemicals to make. If it was actually used it was most likely brought into the country. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/other/syria-destroys-all-chemical-production-equipment-weapons-watchdog-says-f8C11503526

Even with the two components, methylphosphonyl difluoride and isopropyl alcohol, needed to make sarin, you still need to be able to weaponize it by turning it into a mist, so just a hint of an explosion. Generally, only states have that technological and manufacturing ability. Have no idea how much technology Syria had. A single 1/2 -1 ton bomb used outside on a sunny, windy day can dissipate within minutes. Indoors and in the cool dark it can be active for a week or so.

Even if either side had the rocket or aerial bomb needed to weaponize it, sarin exploded outside is not very effective in killing people. You either need to use it indoors or tons of it if used outside.

There are two instances of sarin attacks. The Japanese cult, Aum Shinrikyo March 20, 1995 Tokyo subway attack, and Saddam Hussein’s attack on the Kurds on March 1, 2010. In the Kurd gassing, between 3,200 and 5,000 people were killed and another 7,000 to 10,000 injured when around 20 aircraft dropped mustard and sarin gas, among other substances, on the 70,000 people living in Halabja. In the totally enclosed Tokyo subway episode, “…“Casualties littered the sidewalks and subway station exits. Some foaming at the mouth, some vomiting and others prone and convulsing.” http://www.ibtimes.com/five-facts-know-about-sarin-gas-977532

But in the final analysis, she notes, 85 percent of the 5,510 people treated at Tokyo hospitals and clinics were simply worried, not harmed. Twelve ultimately died from sarin exposure, about 40 others were seriously injured, and slightly less than 1,000 were “moderately ill.”and recovered. see: http://warincontext.org/2013/12/11/how-easy-is-it-to-make-sarin/ . In the NYTimes article it described the event as one bomb crater that had traces of a stain indicative of a chemical weapon in the middle of the street on a sunny morning. I’m no expert, but it seems unlikely that one bomb killed almost anybody much less 80.

Sarin is odorless and tasteless that effects someone by getting either onto their skin or by breathing it in.If you breath it in there is not much you can do.There is a treatment for sarin poisoning, but it must be administered almost immediately upon contact with the substance. If it is on your clothes and skin (sarin remains active on clothing up to 30 minutes after exposure). You are suppose to cut the clothing off as sliding it over their heads, etc. creates the risk of exposing them to sarin droplets. After taking off your clothes the CDC advises you to wash with soap and water The soap raises the pH which is the important part in neutralizing sarin. Sarin is an organophosphate compound (originally a pesticide) and shares many of the same properties as other organophosphate poisonous gases. It is tough to tell sarin just by its effects. As it is quickly metabolized inside the body, unless a sample is taken right away it requires a special analysis looking for metabolites (good for 2-3 weeks after exposure), to discern if it was sarin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarin#Production_and_structure https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/sarin/basics/facts.asp https://www.fluoridealert.org/wp-content/pesticides/effects.chem.weapon.precurs.htm

I don’t know what happened. Not sure if sarin was even used. It is very unlikely Syria did it as it would have taken tons of methylphosphonyl difluoride. Nobody would give that to them. You can’t store pure sarin as it’s too unstable (good for only a couple of weeks unless you are really good at it) It’s generally kept in its two separate components and made just before use. Because of its instability, lethality and concerns for the crew mixing the chemicals, some bombs store the two chemicals separately and mix them together on the way down (not as reliable). . Not sure what or how the jihadist fighters did it or with what. Most likely done indoors. If anybody wants to find out they will need to move fast.

First of all, Hussein was executed already 2006.

Thanks . You are correct. Made change.

A plume model of the claimed rocket (or whatever it was) and environmental conditions should have been the first thing Russia provided to counter a false flag, along with aircraft tracking and target times. Then a demand that the White Helmets identify where the victims were from in relation to those facts. That one easy issue (out of many) would have destroyed the entire air-dropped CW attack story or made the US head-choppers scramble to explain inconsistencies. Some kind of plume model from the warehouse downwind and strike footage could have supported the Russian suspicions about that source.

NONE of this in media-friendly form was proffered by Russia immediately after videos started showing up on the internet. The Russians didn’t even show up for the PsyOps fight. The fact that they failed to do this in Ghouta, failed again here and will repeat the same mistake in the future is perplexing. Putin is right – the US will use the exact same false flags in the future because they will work just as well then.

The Russians seem oblivious to the need to counter obvious lies with some kind of hard evidence quickly to derail the western MSM-driven false-flag narrative. They can at least make the US PsyOps guys put in a little more effort. As it stands now, the spooks in MacDill are probably out golfing and have the interns coordinate false flags. That’s how easy it is considering Russia’s awkward responses so far.

Douglas Houck

Curiously, I agree. Not sure what is in the Russian culture but they are terrible at this game. Make great rockets but poor logicians. Need better access to their scientists.

Barba_Papa

On the other hand they probably figure why bother, if none of the Western news networks will pick it up. The usual pattern seems to be:

– OUTRAGE!!!!! – Lengthy soundbyte of American officials declaring this to be an affront against humanity and that Assad is a bad man who has to go – (if lucky) Newsanchor might deliver a brief Russian response that basically comes down to ‘we didn’t do it’ and not much else.

If such an event happens the US doesn’t have to supply a single shred of evidence whereas it doesn’t matter what the Russians say. if the Jihadists do something and Russia announces it to the world it must come with the most well documented case to hold up in court for the Western media to take notice. And even then it depends on the emotional OUTRAGE factor.

In the end it all boils down to emotion. And in the international opinion its still Rebels = Good, Assad = Bad. Anything that happens to the Rebels = OUTRAGE. Anything that happens to the government side = They had it coming. The only time something happened that would cause OUTRAGE and sympathy for the government side was when ISIS took Palmyra and began to demolish buildings.

You mean like what Prof. Theodore Postol of MIT produced in his assessment? See pages 7-9 of his report: https://southfront.org/mit-professor-questions-white-house-claims-on-syrian-air-forces-involvement-in-chemical-attack-in-idlib/

Pave Way IV

Yes. Specifically like Fig. 10 on Page 9 (which was for Ghouta). I think it was Charles Wood that put together several versions on Whoghouta. I don’t expect Prof. Postol to have had the time or inclination to do that in his report.

Russia, on the other hand, should have plenty of incentive and resources to produce one for the claimed attack site. The point isn’t to prove anything – it’s to challenge al Qaeda’s PR boys (and, by implication, the US) to refine their lies. If the CW was one of four aerial bombs that was supposedly a Sarin CW delivered at that site, then the victims had better have come from an area that the plume would have reasonably been expected to cover. The head-chopper ‘doctors’ can’t claim they don’t know where the victims were discovered. They have been there for months controlling the area. When they head-choppers adjust the lie to claim other bombs were dropped, Russia should then come out with sat imagery or drone footage and ask “Where?” They have the ability to constantly push the ball back in the head-chopper’s court and keep them on the defensive. Head-choppers are not trained to deal with that. The lies get exposed because the western MSM, US government and head-chopper versions all start diverging as the lies becomes more embellished and complex.

Of course it would be an exercise in ‘Whataboutism’ for Russia, but that is exactly what is needed. In case they haven’t noticed, head-choppers media ‘activists’ are only trained to stage a one-time push of staged social media imagery and tweets, then they all just melt away. Russia puts out some initial guess at what the cause might have been, and then western MSM nails that as some kind of definitive and final conclusion by Russia and proceeds to continually pick it apart ad nauseum, making Russia look like fools and hiding the western deception. It is elementary PsyOp designed to make Russia’ seem deceptive and it works.

Barba_Papa

It doesn’t matter. The US and UK didn’t care one bit either what the UN weapons inspectors reported about Iraq’s WMD program in 2003.

Thegr8rambino

two big giveaways that this was a false flag/not even a real chemical attack:

one: there are pics of people helping kids but theyre not wearing any protective gloves or suits, it would kill them too

two: khan shaykun is so far into rebel held territory, what sense would it make to randomly gas people there? if SAA was having a really hard time taking it, then yea, i could understand, but its just so far out there and random it doesnt make sense

Mr. Jackson

HA HA HA…. Ivanka Trump ‘THE ADVISER” of THE PRESIDENT OF THE US – What a Parody !
