Maj. Gen. Jamil Hassan, head of the Syrian Air Force Intelligence Directorate (AFID), visited frontlines in northern Hama and southern Idlib and inspected Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops deployed there on June 21.
Pro-government sources said that Maj. Gen. Hassan met several senior commanders during his unusual visit, including Brig. Gen. Saleh Al Abdullah, who is leading military operations around Idlib.
“I came to be among you where heroism is built and the epics of glory and honor are laid. Here victory is made and history is written here,” Maj. Gen. Hassan told Brig. Gen Abdullah during the meeting, according to the sources.
The AFID is responsible for much of the intelligence work in Greater Idlib. The directorate is also participating in the ongoing military operation through many special forces units, most knowingly the Tiger Forces led by Brig. Gen Suheil al-Hassan.
Maj. Gen. Hassan’s visit indicates that the SAA is indeed planning to resume its ground operations in northern Hama. Earlier, the army reinforced its troops in the strategic region with the elite 4th Division.
hey admin of southfront, maybe you should report about regime losses which account to a 100 and 200 wounded. in the Tel Malah and Jibeen axis. i know you’re one sided so i should state that here.

A country Prime Minister and President should never have wife and children otherwise he would be a disaster for his own country.
very good, Assad needs to pay another visit to the frontlines, it will surely boost morale, it is long overdue
Not the man Assad should be sending to the front lines if he’s hoping to entice even more civilians to switch sides and enter reconciliation negotiations, he’ll just scare the civilian population away and fire up the rebels even more. If anyone deserves to be tried for war crimes after the war is finished this guy should be standing right next to the rebel terrorists and facing justice too, he’s probably just as brutal as any of the terrorists and has countless war crimes attributed to him, many of which he freely admits. He’s not really a hero, he just fights on the right side, but after the war is finished he may be in for a surprise, some anylist claim Assad isn’t quite as fond of him as Putin is or the Syrian people are, he may even be tried for war crimes in his own country by his own people when everything’s finished.
Wait, what did this guy do? I thought the Air Force Intelligence guys mostly did reconnaissance and internal security.
