On September 2, a Syrian intelligence officer named Ali Ibrahim was assassinated in the southern governorate of Daraa.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire at the officer’s car as he was heading to his work in the town of Nawa in the northern countryside of Daraa in the early morning. The officer was killed on the spot.
Warrant Officer Ali Ibrahim
Ibrahim, also known as “Abu Haider,” was serving as a warrant officer in the Military Intelligence Directorate (MID). He is from the town of Masyaf in Hama. According to local sources, Ibrahim was responsible for security studies in the MID’s Branch 265.
Ibrahim survived an assassination attempt in July 20 of 2019, when an improvised explosive device ripped through his car in Nawa.
In the last few months, a series of attacks targeted Syrian intelligence officers in Daraa. In most cases, the perpetrators remained unknown.
Terrorist groups including ISIS, are known to be active in Daraa. Nevertheless, foreign sides may be behind some of the recent attacks in the governorate.

Why is it such a mystery, one side is pro Iranian and the other side semi pro Russian and/or anti Iranian, that’s how it’s panning out, the Intelligence Directorate is pro Iranian and they’re dying like flies now, so whoever is killing them they’re killing them even faster than they can be replaced. A few weeks ago the Iranians opened a recruitment centre in Darra to entice more opposition fighters to join the Syrian Intelligence Directorate, but the Russian already had a recruitment centre there to entice the same opposition fighters to join their SAA 5th army corps, and even though you’d think that seems fair and they both have the right to do that, but it didn’t seem fair when the Iranian backed factions stuck up a roadblock to stop rebel fighters from Quneitra from getting to the Russian recruitment centre, that’s just one of the reasons the Intelligence officers are dying like flies now.
