On March 28, the Syrian Liberation Front (SLF) launched attacked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the western Aleppo countryside and captured the village of Bsartun, the SLF-linked news agency Midad Press reported. The Midad Press said that SLF fighters had killed at least two members of HTS there.
Meanwhile, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS fighters had repelled a separate attack by the SLF on their positions in the villages of Mejdlaya and Mseibin in the southern Idlib countryside. HTS members reportedly killed and injured several fighters of the SLF during the clashes around the two villages.
The new attacks by the SLF once again show that the armed group is not willing to step back and accept HTS’ demands.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that more than 20 civilians had been killed since the beginning of the tensions between HTS and the SLF. More civilians will likely lose their life in this “war of abolition” as a peaceful solution appears to be impossible now.

An interesting news, among other things appointing to the fact that the Syrian Army is going to make more than one offensive in one front. Till now we have Yarmouk, northwest Idlib (at least) and north Homs, but they are also making operations in the west bank of Euphrates against ISIS, and is also possible that they will operate in west Qualamoun, Daraa and Quneitra at the same time.

I wonder about the internal affairs of these Rebel groups, they know for a fact that they are collectively losing to the SAA but still continue fighting local sub-conflicts and private wars.
They are religiously motivated jihadi groups, each with their own interpretation of radical Islam. And since its radical they will bash each other’s head over the tiniest difference in interpretation. They also have different foreign backers who dislike each other as well. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are at odds with the Qatar/Turkey camp. And since their one common enemy is currently leaving these Jihadis alone, that leaves them plenty of time to let their private differences turn into full scale war again.
Completely spot on. Many of these jihadist groups want society structured exactly to the smallest detail in accordance with their fanatical interpretation of Islam. 2 jihadists might have slightly different looking bushy beards, and will figure out a way to make it an issue to fight over.

I’m willing to concede that these thugs are primarily motivated by actual religion and that they are willing to fight for the money of others, because money makes the world go round. It gets them weapons and supplies for their Jihad. And they’ll probably turn on their financial backers if they no longer need them. Most of us come from a relatively secular world so the concept of an all demanding religion driven by fanaticism is alien to us. Since we can’t comprehend how these people actually think we ascribe other motives to them that are more understandable to us.
Or maybe you’re right, and ‘we’ll turn on them once we no longer need them’ is what they keep telling themselves to convince themselves its not morally wrong to take Saudi and Western dollars. And that the higher up you go in their organization, greed starts trumping religion even more.

Its quite simple really. Mercenary gangs, gangs controlled by warlords,and gangs of thieves are all after one thing. Money. Money is power and the gangs that control borders and general commerce via taxation and theft all vie for power. The money they receive from sponsors is a bonus .

For how long Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Jordan and Egypt will see the slaughtering of Palestinians in Palestine?
