The Syrian military has appointed Gen Ghassan Tarragon as the new commander of Syrian forces in Deir Ezzor city.
Gen Tarragon replaced Republican Guard Gen Issam Zahreddine killed near Deir Ezzor city earlier this month.
According to the released information, Gen Tarraf has been one of the senior commanders of the Syrian Army in Dara’a and Deir Ezzor and a comrade of Gen Zahreddine during the siege of Deir Ezzor.
Isn’t tiger suppose to be liberating the city?
The Tigers are probably advancing south towards Bukamal. If the SAA has any smarts that is.

Helluva waste to lose Zahreddine on Saqr, IMO. Air Force should have just pummeled the cockroaches silly. Watching Zahreddine pull a single rowboat containing 5-6 troops back and forth onto the Island…SMH.
Another thing I just don’t quite get: why is it only about 1 in 20 Syrian soldiers wears a #!##@%**&^% helmet?
How important is Saqr island in the grand scheme of things right now? How important is taking the ISIS held parts on the Western bank of the Euphrates currently? It’s not like those ISIS guys will go anywhere. They’re surrounded on both sides of the Euphrates by the SAA. Let that particular apple fall when its ripe, meanwhile concentrate on more important matters.
Not exactly accurate. Zahreddine’s 1st replacement was killed after 2 days on the job. So this makes him the 2nd replacement for Zahreddine.

Over/under is one week. During siege, ISIS forces were spread over much greater area. Now they are concentrated and literally fighting for their lives.

The “1st replacement” that you speak of was never named as the new commander, till he “got killed”. It’s not SAA’s style.
