Syrian intelligence agents carried out a limited operation in Athman in Daraa following the assassination of the town’s pro-government mayor.
The mayor, Faisal Ismali Alloah, was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen inside Athman late on June 5. He was reportedly a staunch supporter of the government.
In the early hours of June 6, a large, heavily armed force of the Syrian Military Intelligence Directorate stormed Athman. According to local sources, the forces arrested at least nine suspects.
The situation in Athman, which is located to the north of Daraa city, is reportedly tense now. However, the opposition does not enjoy much support in the town.
The assassination of Alloah is the most recent in a series of attacks against government troops and pro-government figures in Syria’s southern region. On March 26, a local official in the ruling Ba’ath Party was assassinated in al-Quneitra.
The security situation in the southern region appears to be getting worse. Syrian government forces are starting to take more serious measures like the operation in Athman.
These terrorist just did not decide to do this themselves. Either their zio terrorist jew masters or Turkey zio slaves instructed them.
