Syrian government forces are preparing to cross the Euphrates River in the area of Deir Ezzor city, according to photos appeared online on September 7.
The photos show a column of pontoon bridges and boats in the area of Deir Ezzor. It’s clear that the Syrian military is going to use the deployed equipment to force the river.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) now has an option to make a flanking maneuver in order to encircle ISIS units operating inside Deir Ezzor city from the northern direction.
This will likely impact significantly the battle for the city itself that would be started when the SAA is in full control of the Sukhna-Deir Ezzor highway.

yes they are old but the bridge itself is very good we had something like that in the army when i served and i assure you they did a great job.having fancy transportations trucks is not essential as long as they dont break down in the middle of the desert
Interesting, that is earlier than expected, as they are not really at the river yet, nor did they secure the complete highway yet. In my opinion a premature move or even some sort of deception, who knows.

SAA better clear all of Syria West of the CROSS EUPHRATES RIVER, before they cross. Unless SAA have enough power to due both, which will show in couple days the progress SAA is making clearing the packets North and South of DZ highway
The logistics and manpower requirements, military equipment probably hard to send a tank across without having one of those bridges forget the name they called them will be the real issue.

No pretence this is now Russia versus isis. SAA has become units of Russian infantry.
Don’t get carried away. On the ground, SAA has, in effect, become a unit of the Iranian military, with Russia providing air support and logistical advice on the ground. Iran stays in the background media-wise and otherwise; it is content to allow Russia and her supporters taking the bulk of the credit (such as on this website, almasdar, etc.).
But make no mistake, it’s the Iranians (and its associated Lebanese, Iraqis, Afghans, and other Shi’is) who are the foundation and driving force of the effort; and who, among Syria’s allies, have sacrificed the most blood and treasure in its pursuit.
The Syrians also deserve credit, Tiger forces are fighting for the SAA and not Russia they just enjoy their support.
Neighborhoods that are cutt off from Deir ezzor city or some are like islands will need plenty of platoon boots to reach since bridges are more likely gone or just to encircle the city and make sure that ISIS can’t send reinforcements across.
Great news and move! Don’t let the US ISISraeli terrorists and “SDF” proxies take more land east of the river. Having that filth steal all the oil and resources there will only facilitate their interference in Syria’s affairs and spread of chaos.
You do realize that they share oil revenues with each other right? No matter who takes the land Syria wins. US losses it’s reason to be in Syria. ISIS being defeated should be the main goal here.

Qamishli is a pocket surrounded by the US terrorists’ “SDF” attack dogs in Hasakah governorate, that’s got nothing to do with SAA advances and oil revenues in either side of the Euphrates in Dier Ezzor.
If SDF are terrorists Russia would not be working with them or providing a safe zone in tell rifat.
Kurds in Afrin are much less affiliated with USA than the Kurds to the east and have a history of cooperating with the regime. Also, the oil revenue shared only concerns the oil gained in Kurdish areas, not in the rest of Syria. Seeing as how Kurds seem to have independence aspirations, it is prudent to make sure they control as little resources as possible, so that an independent Kurdistan becomes an economic impossibility (can’t really run a country if your only resource is goat shit).
Kurds in North Eastern Syria take all the revenues and give none to the other area governments to fund their army which is a violation of the Syrian Constitution. The PKK actually lead in Northern Syria as Ocalan’s son is the leader of the PYD/YPG/Asayish which even Kurds are frightened of the Asayish. The PKK still remains a terrorist Organization and were brought in by the US which has been using them to destabilize Turkey.
You must be a Turk since ONLY turks consider PYD to be terrorists. Funny because Turks have been financing and supporting MANY world wide recognised terrorist groups like ISIS.

The revenue sharing is on going in the Qamishi and Hasakah areas . SDF is an American creation in the last year , before that there was little friction between PYD and YPG . The creation of the SDF which included the Sunni tribals , seems to have off-set the Christian sects in a negative fashion . SDF over stepped their authority by allowing the US forces on Syrian soil , with no agreement with the federal Syrian government . The US is responsible for this war against Syria , they are not welcome at all , they must leave .
ISIS is just the current American terror army. Before ISIS the US had al Qaeda, and I’m sure they will create another terror force to replace ISIS. The thing I have noticed about the Americans, is they never change their tactics.

With dozens of photos of these assault bridges all over the net announcing to everyone and his dog that SAA is crossing the Euphrates any minute now, one thing is certain – river crossing is THE LAST thing on their mind. This is old school Russian maskirovka aimed at confusing ISIL, SDF, FSA, US and Israel alike.
Possibly or maybe just an encirclment of the city itself until taken. We will see if any US airstrikes target the bridges.
To carry out an amphibious assault so close to enemy stronghold would be too risky even for some “first class” armies. I’d bet they’ll attack in a place far away from the river as possible. ISIL might calculate and transfer some of it’s mobile units across in order to prevent an attack and concentrate on defense of Euphrates valley – SAA would be left in control of Central and eastern Syria without a shot fired. Just a thought…
Well, I think the Syrian / Russian alliance might be more media-savvy than you think, and a lot of the announcements (including on Southfront) have served strategic purposes. Just another weapon to use against ISIS and co.

There is no need for secrecy since this would be expected as a battle tactic and nothing that the US nor anyone else would not see as a surprise , since sections of the city would need this type of flanking tactic to be employed.

I would advise using air transported troops rather than crossing the river by boat…
