On June 21, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies continued their military operation in the eastern Suwayda countryside and split the ISIS pocket there in half after capturing the key area of Khirbat al- Hibariyah, according to the Syrian al-Suwayda 24 blog.
The Hezbollah media wing in Syria also reported that the SAA captured the areas of Khirbat Hawi Husayn, Tell Qabr Sayah, Tell al-Dahaya, Tell Dirbas, Tell al-Dabab, Tell Lathwi, Tell al-Khail, Tell Umm Janbaris, Tell al-Durus and Tell Ali in the eastern al-Suwyada countryside.
A day earlier, the SAA and its allies cleared more than thirteen villages, valleys and hills in the eastern al-Suwayda countryside from ISIS.
According to al-Suwayda 24 blog, the remaining fighters of ISIS are currently hiding in the areas of al-Tamthunah, Sath Namlah, al-Hasa, al-Safa, Qa’a al-Banat and al-Waer al-Gharbi. These fighters may be planning to launch a counter attack soon.
The SAA launched the second phase of its military operation against ISIS cells in the eastern al-Suwayda countryside on June 17. Reportedly, units of Hezbollah, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) are taking part in the SAA operation there.
