The Syrian army captured a field commander of Jaish al-Fatah terrorist group during the operation near the city of Aleppo in the north-west of the country, a local source told Sputnik.
According to the source, the detention of the militant named Abdullah Mehesni, a Saudi citizen, took place in the southern outskirts of the city. He was captured alive after the military fired a missile at a car in which he was riding.
Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with government forces countering the so-called moderate rebels and several extremist groups, including the Islamic State and the Nusra Front.
