On July 20, the General Command of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) announced in an official statement that units of the SAA entered eighteen towns and villages in the southern governorate of al-Quneitra. According to the SAA’s statement, the liberated villages are:
Al-Nsriyah, Abu Kitf, al-Muqaypirah, Ayn Furikhah, Abu Gharah, Manqarat al-Alam, Mazr’at al-Zaqzaqah, Ayn al-Maqam, al-Muz’aiylah, Rasm al-Barjas, al-Barjas, Rasm al-Qata, al-Suayqah, Ayn al-Zaytun, Rasm al-Munbateh, al-Dawiyah al-Kabirah, al-Dawiyah al-Saghirah, al-Ibt.
Earlier, the SAA entered ten villages in al-Quneitra under an agreement with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which will allow its fighters to withdraw towards to the northern governorate of Idlib.
According to Hezbollah media wing in Syria, two batches of militants and their families have already left al-Quneitra towards Idlib. More militants will likely withdraw in the upcoming hours, as both sides are in hurry to end the evacuation as soon as possible.
Once the evacuation process is over, the he United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) will be redeployed in two observation posts near the villages of Umm Batinah and Ruwayhibah, inside the demilitarized zone, in accordance with the 1974 Israeli-Syria ceasefire agreement.
