On January 22, the Syrian National Defense Forces (NDF) launched a combing operation in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor.
As a part of the new operation, NDF units will hunt down ISIS cells and search for their hideouts near the area of Faydat Ibn Mun’a, to the west of the town of al-Mayadin.
“34 military vehicles are taking part in the combing campaign,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a report. “They [vehicles] were seen heading from al-Mayadin town to the desert.”
According to the monitoring group, NDF units have received an air support from the Russian Aerospace Forces. In the last 24 hours, more than 25 Russian airstrikes hit ISIS cells, hideouts and equipment in the central region. Syrian warplanes also carried out airstrikes on the terrorist group’s cells.
Last week, the NDF, the Syrian Arab Army 5th Corps and the al-Quds Brigade launched a similar operation to secure the Homs-Deir Ezzor highway, the M20. The operation is still ongoing.
ISIS cells launch attacks on government troops and civilians in eastern Homs and western Deir Ezzor from the Homs desert on a regular basis. The vast desert lays between the two region.
The combing operation may limit ISIS movement in western Deir Ezzor. Nevertheless, it will not keep the terrorist group away for too long.
Welcome to the Pizza-Pedo-Mafia Bidet Administration! US convoy already enters Syria from Iraq!
Yes it will work, combing operations aren’t a decisive way to get rid of Isis completely but they will stop Isis operating with impunity, and at this late stage anything’s better than nothing. What they really need to do is effectively coordinate all the allied forces into one cohesive and responsive force, with just one leader to lead them all, then the right hand never has to worry about what the left hand is or isn’t doing. Isis was more powerful back in 2017, but Russia, the NDF, the SAA, and the Iraqi forces were able to wipe out Isis in under 2 month in the same areas they’re trying to wipe them out now, check the dates between October 2017 and December 2017, by the end of December Putin had announced the total eradication of Isis in Government held areas. That’s the difference between a well coordinated and well led force, back then under Russian command Isis was easy pickings for the SAA and allies, but this mishmash of separate armies can’t achieve the same results, and Russia’s constantly been telling us that with a series of revealing reports on SF, where they always claim the biggest problem combating Isis now is the “unwillingness of controlling powers to properly coordinate efforts”. And all the pro Iranian trolls jump on the forums to claim it’s the US or Israel that SF’s referring to, but the US isn’t a controlling power in southern Deir ez Zor, and the Israelis aren’t a controlling power in the southern Governorates, Iran is, so it’s Iran they’re referring to when they say “controlling powers refuse to cooperate/coordinate”. Why are there more pro Iranian trolls on SF than pro Russian readers/commenters, they seem to dominate these pro Russian forums more than any other group does lately, so it’s time for you pro Russian supporters to push back, read and understand what the Russian Government is telling you on SF lately, “controlling powers is referring to Iran, not Israel or the US as all the pro Iranian trolls try to claim, they’re just trying to confuse you and conflate the issue to hide the truth. Just think for yourselves for a change, what sort of army would you prefer to lead, an army that responds to your every command when it’s given, or an army that listens to what you say and then confirms it with a third party before complying, and sometimes even refuses to obey at all. You have to pick a side now, do you think the Russian top led and coordinated army is a better way to combat Isis, or do you think the fragmented and uncoordinated army the Iranians now have on the field is the better option. It’s been 2 years and counting and the Iranian way of doing things has given us the results we have now, but if you go back in time and see just how easily the Russians did it back in 2017, you’ll see a top led and coordinated army can do the same job in under 2 months. Isis isn’t that powerful at all, they’re just taking advantage of the fact the opposing forces are totally uncoordinated and unreliable, but the Russians want to change that, they know they can achieve results if they’re allowed to merge the fighting forces in Deir ez Zor into one coordinated and reliable fighting force, that’s when the Iranians finally let them [if they let them]. There’s 3 pro Iranian supporter/trolls for every pro Russian supporter on SF forums lately, so why are they suddenly dominating this pro Russian news site, I know why. And the pro Iranian trolls all live in fantasy land, they’re as far removed from reality as any group could be, black is white and up is down and they won’t believe otherwise, truly the dumbest group of forum users on SF.
