Syrian and Russian forces carried out more than 1,000 strikes on the governorate of Idlib and its surroundings on June 5, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
The London-based monitoring group said that the Syrian and Russian airstrikes targeted at least 19 towns and villages in greater Idlib.
Step News, a pro-opposition outlet based in Idlib, released a new video showing a Su-24M2 and a Su-34 of the Russian Aerospace Forces, as well as a L-39 of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) flying over greater Idlib.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed its ground operation in northwestern Hama two days ago and captured four towns north and west of the town of Kafr Nabudah.
These intense airstrikes indicate that the SAA and its allies are planning to continue their ground operations in the upcoming few days.

1000 in twenty four hours seems quite a lot. I think the Russians only have a few tens of aircraft. So it’s hard to see how so many strikes could be possible.
well between the Russian planes and the Syrian planes, due to short distance they could do that if they put their minds to it, but I also doubt they have reach 1000 strikes in one day.
The thing is that target would be chosen carefully and damage assessed .I don’t think they just go in blasting away. There is the fatigue of the pilots and ground crew to consider. I don’t doubt that the bombing was intense but I think the number is just a propaganda number which appears to come from pro -terrorist sources.

Agree but for months the turkish backed terrorists have been fortifying positions and making them permanent bases for them as well receiving a lot of hardware from turkey and I am sure both the Russians and Syrians, been watching and marking targets.

Pro rats source is trying to make up the number out of his arse. During the most intense phases of RuAF compaign in Syria they were doing 110-130 sorties in 24 hours (unthinkable figure for NATO for same amount of jets. Many remember the state of shock NATO commentators have been during 2015). If one counts every attack on target as strike than it is possible to get up to 4 strikes per sortie/jet. But that’s not possible in current reality – rats are hiding and running. In reality there could be 300-400 strikes (RuAF and Syrian AF combined) at the very best but even that is highly unlikely. I know that we want Idlib liberated as soon as possible but let’s be real. I would think that sohr is working on prepearing pretext for next round of “Butcher Assad and evil Putin the Terrible are butchering “innocent moderate freedom fighters” (head chopping rats in reality but that doesn’t count in MSM world). Let’s see how it unfolds.

That is correct, I believe 100 airstrikes over the past 2 weeks is a more plausible figure. Even that in the limited confines of Idlib would have done some serious damage to the headchoppers.
This is totally insane propaganda. Russia has barely 18 SU-24 and SU-25 ground attack Frogfoot in Syria. The Syrian AF ground attack capability is 12 upgraded SU-24Mk2 and 10 Iranian upgraded SU-22 Fitters with another smattering of MIG 21/23 and L-39 armed trainers. Even if their sortie turnaround time was a fantastical 10 seconds (even in the best of circumstances it takes a minimum of 1-2 hours to refuel and rearm an aircraft) this amazing feat is simply not possible. Perhaps, the Russians, Iranians and SyAAF have flown around 100 sorties since the last 2 weeks of air operations in Idlib with a possible ordinance tonnage of around 200 tons of HE and anti-personnel configuration. Even that amount would have taken out a lot of terrorist headchoppers and their depleted armor as photos and videos have shown. No wonder the bitches are crying and exaggerating!

When Russia decides to do something, it does it well, fast, and with high accuracy. I hope these attack means that Russia has stopped to please Turkey (NATO member) and is leading the offensive at Idlib.

How many planes does Russia have in Syria? A dozen maybe? So Russian planes can do more than 80 sorties a day, one every 20 minutes, that’s very impressive, of course the British could be lying, but they would never do that?

1,000 airstrikes in the last 24 hours? I don’t think so SouthFront. A more accurate count would be to count the number of “sorties” (i.e. one mission by one aircraft). For example, a flight of four Su-24 attack aircraft go on a mission and pound the enemy: that is four sorties. If the same four aircraft fly three missions in one day – that is 12 sorties. That calculation is more accurate in assessing the intensity of an air campaign. Just a suggestion.

L-39 Albatross is bit of a toy compared to the Fencer and Flanker – but it is the great 20th century east bloc and non aligned bloc jet trainer – with nearly 3000 unit sales!
