Syrian security forces had seized a large arms shipment that was headed for the northwestern region of Greater Idlib, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on July 22.

The news agency’s reporter said the authorities had intercepted the shipment in Homs after penetrating an arms trafficking network. The shipment was heading to the northern countryside of Idlib. The source of the arms was not revealed.

According to the SANA, the seized weapons included dozens of assault rifles, some sniper rifles, dozens of RPG-7 and RPG-2 rounds as well as loads of ammunition of different calibers.

Greater Idlib is controlled by a number of Turkish-backed factions and terrorist groups, most notable is al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.

This was not the first arms shipment seized by Syrian security forces on its way to Greater Idlib. On July 5, a similar shipment was seized in Homs. It included some advanced weapons such as anti-tank guided missiles.

The possible source of these weapons may be located in southern Syria, where a lot of radicals and arms traffickers stay active. The local fighters are heavily armed. Many didn’t surrender their weapons after the 2018 reconciliation agreement with the government.

If those weapons were transported all at once that must have been a convoy of trucks, they must be able to spot them with drones etc, also they need to incinerate the source of those weapons whether it Turky or one of those illegal US bases

Assad must stay

great job SAA keep up the superb work

Brother Ma

Almost certainly the Turks, and Russia has told Syria not to do anything ….again. Why were those weapons shown? No propaganda value as they won’t say who sent them . What they should have done is torch the whole convoy which most likely had Turk commandos and intelligence embedded in it. That sends a much better message.

Satellitte

the US-Saudis Erdogan Zionist sect are doing everything to undermine the viability of the Syria.
