Syrian Army Shells Militant Positions In Idlib, Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) shelled on October 4 several militants’ position in the so-called Greater Idlib region in the northwestern part of the country.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the SAA launched more than 65 rockets at the towns of Ma’aret Hurmah and Maarzita in southern Idlib. The SAA artillery also shelled the town of al-Eis in western Aleppo.

“So far, there are no reports of any casualties,” the London-based monitoring group said in its reporter.

A day earlier, a rocket strike by the army on the southern Idlib countryside injured or killed ten Turkish-backed militants. The SAA also shelled the perimeter of the Turkish post near Ma’aret Hurmah.

These strikes are likely a response to the repeated provocations by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). The terrorist group and its allies are violating the ceasefire in Greater Idlib on a daily basis.

This “ceasefire” was yet another joke. Maarat al-Numan could have been liberated now. With this speed the liberation of Idlib will last at least 5 more years.
