Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers and supporters of the Damascus government have intercepted two convoys of the US-led coalition in the northern countryside of Syria’s al-Hasakah.

The first convoy was intercepted on April 12 between the towns of Hamo and Tell Brishah. The convoy was reportedly trying to reach the town of al-Qamishli, which is located right on the border line with Turkey. However, it was forced to retreat.

A day later, the second convoy was intercepted near the town of al-Qusair. Tribesmen from the local al-Ghnamah tribe confronted the convoy alongside SAA soldiers. The convoy attempted to reach the strategic M4 highway. However, it was forced to withdraw in the end.

SAA soldiers and government supporters have been working to restrict the movements of the US-led coalition in al-Hasakah for a while now.

Several hundreds of US troops are currently present in northeastern Syria. US troops in the region came under attack on several occasions in the last few months. The most recent attack, which targeted the US-led coalition main base in al-Omar oil fields in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, wounded four American service members.

Despite facing some threats, Washington is not planning to withdraw its troops from northeastern Syria anytime soon. In fact, the coalition is currently working to reinforce some of its bases in the region with new weapons and military equipment.

How about if Russia or China would provide them with some RPGs? Just asking since the west really likes to help the locals with new arms shipments.
