The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and supporters of the Damascus government continue to obstruct the movements of the US-led coalition in the northeastern Syrian governorate of al-Hasakah.
On March 17, SAA soldiers and government supporters intercepted a convoy of the US-led coalition that was moving towards the town of al-Qamishli in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah.
The convoy, which consisted of five armored vehicles, was intercepted near the villages of al-Damkhia and Tell al-Dahab. After a short stand-off, the convoy retreated.
On March 18, a second convoy of the US-led coalition was intercepted in the northern countryside of al-Hasakah. A group of SAA soldiers and government supporters confronted the convoy, which consisted of six vehicles, near the villages of Rahiya al-Sooda and Tamna al-Rahya, forcing it to withdraw.
SAA soldiers and government supporters have been working to restrict the movements of the US-led coalition in al-Hasakah for a while now. Dozens of coalition convoys were intercepted in the last few months.
Today most US-led coalition forces in northeastern Syria are based in al-Hasakah. The governorate hosts several bases of the coalition.
