On March 19, Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers in the northeastern governorate of al-Hasakah intercepted another convoy of the US-led coalition.
The soldiers intercepted the coalition’s convoy, which consisted of five armored vehicles, at a checkpoint in the outskirts of the village of Tell al-Dahab. According to the Syrian state TV, the convoy was forced to retreat after a brief stand-off.
This was the fourth US-led coalition convoy to be intercepted by SAA soldiers during March. On March 3, a US-led coalition convoy was intercepted in the outskirts of the town of al-Dadushiyah. On March 17, a second convoy of the coalition was intercepted near the villages of al-Damkhia and Tell al-Dahab. On March 18, the third convoy was intercepted near the villages of Rahiya al-Sooda and Tamna al-Rahya.
SAA soldiers and supporters of the Damascus government have been restricting the movement of US-led coalition convoys in al-Hasakah for the last few months.
Several hundreds of US troops are currently present in northeastern Syria. Most of these troops are deployed in key gas and oil fields in the governorates of al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor. During a recent press briefing at the Pentagon, Gen. Frank McKenzie commander of the US Central Command told reporters that he doesn’t know for how long US troops will remain in Syria.
Washington’s unwillingness to withdraw its forces from Syria anytime soon will likely force the Damascus government and its allies to take more radical measures against these forces.
Once US squatters are on a nations land they can only be removed by force. The US squatters have been in Germany since 1945.
Those troops in Germany are asked for.
