ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi was captured by the U.S.-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in a recent security operation in southeast Deir Ezzor, the Raqqa Media Center reported on May 7.
The operation, which took place on May 6, targeted the town of al-Zawr. Five helicopters of the coalition supported the operation, engaging targets inside the town. Two of the wanted personnel blew themselves up, while a third person, an Iraqi citizen, was captured.

According to the Raqqa Media Center, which is affiliated with the SDF’s self-administration, the captured Iraqi was none other than the infamous ISIS leader, al-Qurashi.
“The air landing lasted for hours and was the largest in terms of the number of participating personnel, planes and the duration of the landing,” the media center said in a Facebook post describing the operation in which al-Qurashi was allegedly captured.
Al-Qurashi, whose real name is Amir Mohammed Abdul Rahman al-Mawli al-Salbi, was appointed as the ISIS leader a week after the death of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a U.S. raid on northwest Syria in October of 2019.
The claims about the capture of al-Qurashi appears to be false as Col. Myles B. Caggins III, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition, revealed that an “ISIS mid-level fighter” was captured in the recent operation in Deir Ezzor.

The identity of the captured terrorist is yet to be revealed. However, the location of the operation indicates that he may be one of ISIS’ Emirs [Islamic term for senior commander] in Deir Ezzor.
Why bother capturing this tramp, he is not going to have any stategic information to trade unless it is the source of his intel from Israel/USA etc Torture him them incinerate him

Depends – there are probably two ‘sets’ of emirs. First are the initial die-hard fanatical ISIS nutjobs used by ‘certain foreign interests’ to take over territory from the targeted country. Second set are the softball end-stage emirs (CIA or Mossad employees) that are positioned to replace the original fanatics. They prevent a power vacuum in ISIS as the US processes the old guard emir/commander kill list. Because of the way ISIS works, none of the cannon fodder question the newly appointed commanders – that’s just the way it is.
Eventually, the replacement emirs/commanders will stand down and dissolve their ranks when the US or whomever finally shows up to ‘liberate’ the territory. Free helicopter rides for the CIA emirs/commanders to Erbil, then off with their families to their new homes in Virginia. Of course a few cannon-fodder or low-level commanders will object to surrender. Easy mop-up. That’s what drones and hellfires are for. Anbar/Deir EzZor now ready for independence and ‘Deal of the Century’ Palestinian resettlement. Blood for Oil pipelines will finally be completed.
