Syrian War Report – July 26, 2019: Russian, Syrian Warplanes Rain Hell On Militants In Western Aleppo

On July 25, warplanes of the Syrian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces bombed positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and its allies near the villages of al-Bawabiya, al-Atarib, Qammari, al-Barqoum, Urem al-Kubra, and Kafr Halab, and the Base 46 area. According to pro-militant sources, the Syrians and Russians delivered dozens of airstrikes aiming gatherings of equipment and military infrastructure.

The strikes came in response to the July 24 rocket shelling on Aleppo’s city center that killed at least 3 civilians and injured many others. Pro-government activists accused Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation of carrying out the attack.

On the same day, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham announced that its special forces had ambushed a unit of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near Qasabiyeh in northern Hama. A military source denied HTS’ claims and told SouthFront that northern Hama did not witness any infiltration attempt during the mentioned period. This explains why the terrorist group’s claims did not include the results of the supposed attack.

Mashhour Zaydan, a Syrian commander affiliated with Hezbollah, was killed in western Damascus, Syrian sources confirmed on July 22. Zyadan was killed in the morning of July 21 when a guided projectile hit his car near Sasa in western Damascus. The strike also killed a 3-year old girl and injured three women, who were near.

Israel repeatedly claimed that Hezbollah is establishing a network in al-Qunitra’s countryside in cooperation with local commanders and warned that it will not tolerate such developments.

On July 24, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) struck SAA positions at Tell al-Harrah in western Daraa and Tell al- Ahmar in al-Quneitra’s countryside. Nonetheless, the strike led to no casualties among SAA personnel. According to Syrian sources, the IDF used Spike NLOS ground-to-ground missiles.

Additionally, the IDF accused Hezbollah of smuggling weapons and missile manufacturing materials through Beirut Port. Lieutenant Colonel Avichay Adraee claimed that Hezbollah is doing this in cooperation with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

These remarks went in the framework of Israel’s general policy in the region that is mostly based on opposing the growing influence of Iran and Hezbollah. In 2018, Israeli officials even threatened to strike supposed Hezbollah missile sites in Lebanon.

Russian rain hell on terrorists in Alepo means revenge by Erdogan terrorists tomorrow. The problem with Russians is their under estimates the capability of Iran and Hisbollah or allies.Their believe in huge missiles and huge army with nuclear weapons and thus pumping fear in allies.War does not need a huge army or only nuclear weapons but proactive and prompt response.

Tudor Miron

With all due respect to Iran – Iran and Hezballah were helping Assad before Russia came into play. How did it work for Assad? No one was giving him more than a month – it was game over for Assad/SAA with all the help from Iran and Hezballah. Things changed radically when Russia answered official request for military help from legitimate Syrian government and president Bashar Assad. Why are you mentioning nuclear weapons? Russia (unlike USA) never used nuclear weapons. Sole purpose of Russia’s nuclear aresenal is deterrence – guaranteed annihilation of enemy if it attacks Russia with nuclear weapons or if existance of Russia will be endangered by any other means. Now tell us, where you are from and how your country is helping Syrian people to fight against irregular armed forces of collective west.

ruca

Amen brother!

Goran Grubić HardyVeles

USA used atomic, not nuclear weapons. Just saying :).

Aphelion

“Atomic” and “nuclear” are synonyms, so he was perfectly correct. The distinction is when you divide nuclear/atomic weapons into their two main sub-classes: fission bombs and fusion (thermonuclear or “hydrogen”) weapons. Since the first nuclear weapons were fission devices, some people associate the term “atom bomb” specifically with fission devices, which is probably what you were trying to convey. However, even if you wanted to convey that the weapons the US used were not the same as a modern thermonuclear device, they certainly still fall under the wider, more encompassing term – “nuclear weapons”. Tudor Miron above was therefore perfectly correct and he is also correct that the US is the only country to have used this class of weapon in an actual conflict.

Goran Grubić HardyVeles

But… ah yes! My bad, completely. I’ve equalized “thermonuclear” with “nuclear” & followed popular use of the terms (could be native language/culture specific, i.e. how we adopted the terms in Serbian). Really, now I see that there would be no sense to distinct “atomic” from “nuclear” as ionization is surely not the most relevant aspect – but the changes in nuclei, that are clearly there in both fission and fusion.

Tudor Miron

Atomic bomb = nuclear bomb. Its just a different wording for the same thing. Atomic/Nuclear is a type of weapons that uses energy of desintegration of plutonium 239.

Goran Grubić HardyVeles

But, isn’t true for English too, that when one say: “atomic bomb” he means fission, and “nuclear bomb” means fusion i.e. thermonuclear? I mean, in colloquial speech. In technical language, both of you are right, that-s clear.

AM Hants

Well said.

The most powerful weapon in history, the blue screen of death strikes again https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cb4f403354ba28c9892a323e9d0f7c4368dca233ec6735450553729c8599f83a.jpg

AM Hants

Raqqa so comes to mind.

Then you have the recent report, ignoring Raqqa. Where I believe the bodies are still waiting to be collected. How many those who have not been invited to invade Syria, taken out. The recent report, from one of the UN groups, which mentions over 1300 civilian deaths, thanks to those who were not invited to invade.

AM Hants

Darling, I was not aware I had ‘gender re-alignment surgery’, owing to not being part of the NATO Forces. Unless you are talking about yourself?

Toronto Tonto

RED SQUARE MAIDEN is the only way Russians can go ahead in life and prosper.

Aphelion

Red Square “maiden”? What do you have in mind with this meeting of young girls on Red Square? Your attempts to get a revolution going will probably stand a better chance once you learn to spell.

Paul

Can you explain in depth how that would happen?

Aphelion

A guy visits Moscow and there on Red Square he meets a young lady. They get married, and as Toronto Tonto predicted, they “go ahead in life and prosper”. Many year later, the guy tells his grandchildren how he met their grandmother – the beautiful Red Square Maiden.

Paul

Lol

Paul

You haven’t come up with a scenario where Russia would be better off. Is it because you have no idea?

Paul

Hey, you still haven’t responded to my question. Please tell me how a Western backed overthrow of the current government will benefit Russia economically? Are you able to have a reasonable discussion or do you just peddle your ignorant BS like a moron.

Robert Ferrin

Please don’t feed the trolls for it only encourages them.!!

Rodney Loder

The international alliance supporting Hezbollah is growing and the alliance to declare Hezbollah unconstitutional is pretty much Trump and Netanyahu, there are others with out any support base who get media coverage and that’s it, all they will ever have to offer.

Russia and China are fully on board supporting Iran, UAE is coming over to that position which means it won’t be long and Sheikh Khalifa al-Nahyan will be a permanent supporter of Hezbollah.

The reason is simple, recruiting support for Trump and Netanyahu is hard going.

China and Russia understand if Trump and Salman are successful they will be balkanized, and Netanyahu without Salman and UAE support is history with a sticky end.
