Russia and Turkey have reached an agreement on the situation in the town of Tell Rifaat in the province of Aleppo, the London-based newspaper al-Araby al-Jadeed reported on June 14.

Under the agreement, units of the Turkish military will allegedly be deployed in Tell Rifaat side by side with the Russian Military Police, which was deployed there a few months ago. The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG) will withdraw from the town. Members of Turkish-backed militant groups will not be allowed to enter the area.

The agreement is allegedly aimed at de-escalating the situation and allowing civilians to return to their houses in the town.

According to some pro-government sources, the SAA already began preparations to withdraw from Tell Rifaat. Earlier in 2018, SAA units were deployed in the town amid the Turkish military operation against the YPG in Afrin.

The Russian Aerospace Forces have carried out strikes on positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) and the Syrian Liberation Front (formerly Ahrar al-Sham) in the province of Aleppo. The strikes were a response to repeated hit and run attacks by these militant groups on the government-held area of Aleppo city.

On June 14, unknown gunmen shot and killed Doctor Musa Qanbas, a member of the reconciliation committee in southern Syria, in front of his clinic in the town of al-Harra in northwestern Daraa. On June 2, three other members of the committee – Tufiq al-Ghunim, Mohamad al-Ghunim and Mufaq al-Bargas were also assassinated. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), at least twelve members of the committee were assassinated during the last two months.

Syrian experts describe this series of assassinations as an attempt by some militant groups and their foreign sponsors, mostly the US and Israel, to undermine the Damascus government efforts to restore control of southern Syria by a peaceful way.

Syria has no choice but to work within the Russian diplomatic envelope, but I’m beginning to see that the Russians are not looking at the situation in Syria with crystal clarity. They are failing to see how truly desperate Erdogan’s political circumstances are. He is caught between an electorate that supports him and NATO, which also supports him. The agendas of the Turkish voters and the NATO Alliance are not the same though. The Turkish people want a better economy, which the EU will not supply, affecting their standing in NATO. And NATO what’s to hobble Russia’s economy by choking off its last warm water port from the rest of the Near East Asia. Any compromise they make with the West is a compromise comparable to that of python’s coils and its victim’s chest cavity. Every compromise means less room to breathe until there’s not enough oxygen to maintain bodily functions. And that’s what the deep state is counting on. Keep bleeding the Syrian battle space of men and resources until Iranian and/Russian resources drop off. Stop compromising with America, and take Daraa. Surge up to the Jordanian border and cut off the militant supply line. When that’s done, the sooner the better, the rebels in the Homs desert are finished at a stroke. No ammunition, no medical supplies, no food, no pay, and no reinforcements. Except for whatever the Americans can supply by way of Al Tanf, the militants in the Homs desert will be dead in the water. No more attacks towards Palmyra or even the T2 pumping station. Done. Taking the militant ‘strongpoints’ in the Homs desert after that will like taking candy from a baby. Starving men can’t eat their own bullets or drink their dwindling petrol supply. They may make pretense to fight but they will fold with each assault upon their lines. Get Daraa first

I agree, Putin is compromising too much with Netanyahu, under pressure of Russian-Jewish billionaires and 1 million Russian-Jews in Palestine, I guess.

Not providing adequate arms to allies to prevent Israeli attacks, countering even Russian general’s advice!!!

Hopefully we will see SAA progress in South-Syria soon, because else the Syrian holocaust is prolonged.

The attrition strategy works both ways. The Globalist game of “opposing terrorism” by supporting terrorism is not sustainable. If you look at “main stream” US and UK media, the percentage of commentators who swallow the Globalist Kool Aid is exceedingly minute. Globalists like Hillary and Cameron found out to their dismay that “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” Here at SF there are only a few Paid Trolls trying lamely to act as apologists for Globalist aggression in Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc.

The Russians and allies need a good plan to make the final push to end the skirmishes in Syria. 1-Improve air defences in Syria an Iran and Iraq. 2-Get Lebanon air defence systems 3-Get the Syrians, Iranians and Lebanese surface to sea missiles to target launching pads like aircraft carriers. 4-Help the Iraqi squash Daesh

That will take about 2 years. It could take less time but a enough time is needed to convince the Russians to drop their daddy issues towards the west.

They already have, you should keep up with the news better, maybe look at Russian news to get a clearer picture.

That means – Tall Rifat will be handed over to terrorists who wants Assad dead. Russia allows terrorists and Turkish occupants to control of Syrian land. Syria must agree with this. Hope that Assad will regain this area in later time. Long live SAA! Sorry, but my English is bad.
