On Tuesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) launched a large military operation in an attempt to split the militant-held area in the Daraa province into two separate parts.

Initially, the SAA and the NDF captured the Daraa Air Defense Base and the Dahdah Hill, but then government forces were pushed to retreat and the joint militant forces led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) retook the area.

The SAA and the NDF also pushed in the direction of the Grain warehouses and inside the Palestinian camp but were not able to make notable gains.

During the clashes, militants destroyed a government forces battle tank, captured a battle tank, a bulldozer, and armoured vehicle.

On Wednesday, the Syrian Air Force continued bombing militant targets in the border area. This indicates that the SAA and the NDF may repeat an attempt to reach the border. If this is done, government force would develop momentum in the area in order to cut off supply lines to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and its allies inside the city of Daraa.

In the eastern Damascus desert, government forces have captured the Bir Qassab area. The advance was made after a series of firefights with US-backed militants. Government forces steadily drive US-backed forces from the eastern Damascus desert. According to some experts, the goal of this effort is to isolate US-led coalition troops and their allied militant units in the border area near the US military facilities of At Tanf and Al Zqur.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured Kasrat al Faraj from ISIS in the city of Raqqah. Clashes continued in al-Baryd and Qadisiyyah.

A pilot of the Syrian Su-22 downed by the US-led coalition, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Fahd, was captured by SDF units. Since then, negotiations are ongoing between the government and the SDF to free him.

It interesting enough Israel hasn’t bombed in like two months or so.

ram2009

But there is a lot of activity on the ground, befriending the locals, providing them medical help etc alongside the arming of terrorists.

maybe they know something we dont, like russia turned on its S-400 or something

What would happen if now and then one would strike some targets across the Jordanian border? Jordan is facilitating an invasion of sovereign Syrian territory–why should they remain untouched? I feel this way about all of the minor criminals, but in the cases of Turkey (NATO) and Israel (Chosen) there are practical obstacles.

That is a good idea that it is known already by USA-NATO-Israel. For sure these guys will bomb Syria because Syria would be invading a legal regime (o r government ?). However, if Russia support Syria for this idea, I do not see any problem with it.

i read a few days ago jordanian army killed some retreating FSA so im not sure they are planning an invasion yet

That’s why I said “facilitating” and of course it’s not that easy for Jordan to say no to its masters. FSA training facilities etc are fair game as far as I’m concerned, although one is perpetually beating about the bush unless you bring the pain in Washington where it belongs. What a mess.

Ma_Laoshi This situation has happened because Russia does not fully support the Syrian Military.

“…strike some targets across the Jordanian border? …”

Its better not to escalate the internal Syrian conflict into Jordan.

Russia would not defend or give any Air Defence to the Syrian Military which would face an airstrikes from the US led “Terror Axis” countries.

“…Jordan is facilitating an invasion of sovereign Syrian territory–why should they remain untouched?…”

Jordan is part of the US led “Terror Axis” countries and gets full protection from the US.

Russia does not allow any of the “Terror Axis” countries to be harmed, their Air Forces fly freely in Syrian Sovereign airspace

SECRET. INTELLIGENCE. SERVICES) ? IT’S TIME TO START BOMBING THE SUPPLIERS.

This move will be good if the Syrian Military can break the “”Terrorist Conveyor Belt” logistics supply route before the US led “Terror Axis” expand their Terrorist Protection Zone of Al Tanf.

Rather than launch full on attacks the Syrian Military should be picking off individual embedded Terrorist pockets and incoming supply convoys.
