Pro-government forces have achieved a decisive victory over ISIS in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor city.

On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) TigerForces, the Syrian Republican Guard (SRG) and their allies liberated Maliha village, the Tayyem oil field and reached the Thurda Mountains south of the city. Separately, government troops overrun the ISIS defense in the cemetery area inside Deir Ezzor and established a corridor to Deir Ezzor Airport breaking the ISIS siege on this strategic military facility.

On the same day, Abu Mustafa, a commander of the Hezbollah operation in Deir Ezzor gave an interview to the the Lebanese al-Mayadeen news TV channel inside the airport. He officially confirmed the Hezbollah involvement in the anti-ISIS operation and praised the Syrian leadership, the Hezbollah leadership as well as Russia for the support to Deir Ezzor. Hezbollah members have been operating in Deir Ezzor since 2014 when they were airlifted to the airport.

On Sunday, the SAA and its allies seized the Panorama Area and established a full control over the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor highway. Then, they liberated the Thurdah Mountains and pushed ISIS out from their remaining positions south of the cemetery area.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced Deir Ezzor Airport was fully secured and it will be operational again as soon as possible.

According to pro-ISIS sources, the terrorist group killed over 80 Syrian soldiers, destroyed at least two battle tanks and 10 vehicles as well as captured few Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGM) and 2 vehicles belonging to the SAA during the recent clashes. On the other hand, pro-government sources have not provided detailed reports about the alleged ISIS losses since Saturday.

The US-led coalition and the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) used the SAA success in Deir Ezzor in order to launch own operation against ISIS in the province.

On Saturday, the SDF announced a start of the “al-Jazeera Tempest” campaign aimed at capturing the entire area north and east of Deir Ezzor city. This means that the SDF seeks to seize the strategic Omar oil field as well as may try to capture some parts of the Deir Ezzor-Baghdad highway cutting off this vital supply line that could be established between Iraq and Syria.

On Sunday, the SDF reached the industrial zone in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor city after re-capturing a number of points in the Khabur river valley with almost no ISIS resistance.

ISIS claimed that its members destroyed a Humvee and a heavy gun of the SDF with ATGMs in al-Kurafi village and conducted a VBIED attack on the SDF in some area 20km north of Deir Ezzor.

The US-led coalition officially confirmed that it provides equipment, training, intelligence and logistics support, precision fires and battlefield advice for SDF units involved in the operation. Meanwhile, sources linked to the so-called Raqqah Civil Council, a body created by the SDF to rule Raqqah, claimed that Major General Rupert Jones, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the US-led coalition, said that the coalition will not allow the SAA to cross the Euphrates River and even threatened to strike the SAA. These claims have not been denied or confirmed by the coalition.

Now, government forces have two options in Deir Ezzor province:

  1. To liberate the remaining ISIS-held area in Deir Ezzor city;
  2.  To outflank the city in order to encircle it and to block further SDF advances in its northern countryside.

The second one could easily led to escalation between the Syrian-Russian-Iranian alliance and the US-led coalition.

what a relief… thank God for such great news again and much more to come … kudos to all the superheroes on the ground

US and Kurds are looking for a conflict with the Syrian army.

Nigel Maund

Absolutely correct and they will engineer it!!

Lupus

Great. Cant wait to see the red paint all around DeZ and cheerfull people liberated from hell

Nigel Maund

The time has come where the SAA, Hezbollah and Iran will have no option but to shoot down US and Israeli air force jets to protect their troops; and, for the RuAF to smash the SDF if they challenge SAA forces on Syrian territory. The Russians cannot play half a game here as the US (read Deep State) is setting up a war situation purposely. No doubt the Russians, Syrians, Hezbollah and Iran have foreseen these issues and are thinking how best to outhink the US and Israel to minimize their military advantages in airpower and produce an ideal outcome for Syria. Eventually, the two sides have to clash. If so,then it is vital that the US and SDF are delivered a very bloody nose and forced into retreat, or sufficiently disrupted to cause doubt and indecison to impair their progress. One way may be to lure them into making a critical military and political blunder.

Thegr8rambino

agreed, what is best way to achieve this?

Nigel Maund

Thanks – that I’m afraid is beyond my capabilities given I know a tiny fraction of the facts ad am not a political or military planner. This a game for the highly skilled and experienced. Sun Tsu tactics / strategy will apply in general outline, however, the details will be more complex and are best left to the experts on the ground. Syria and its allies are now highly skilled and experienced. Also Russian generalship is highly competent. In my view, the game is to force the the SDA and US to make a political and military blunder.

Thegr8rambino

Yes, perhaps forcing them to stretch their forces too thin, or forcing them to divert their units from important areas

Ronald

Or as in Al Bab when the Turks invaded , just cross and keep flanking towards the Iraqi border .

Ishyrion Av

Second option is the only option. Syrians must take their country back from hungry wolves. And that includes kurds, even if they are supported by the us-israel regime.

MeMadMax

Cross the euphrates at muyadin. Use the branch off of the euphrates to block out the kurds from the SAA landing on the other side and the omar oil fields.

Spectator

You are right. Simple and fast

temujin1970

Option 2 all the way. If the US knows that Russian personnel are with the SAA they will do their usual tail between the legs routine. Declare victory and abandon the Kurds to their much deserved fate. I was once a supporter of the Kurds but after they turned on Assad, a man who allowed them to live in his country. Protected their rights to their language and culture they deserve to be thrown to the turks.

Nigel Maund

You’re right having the Russians directly embedded with the SAA will make attacking them very difficult and would stymie the US battle plan. Let’s see what the Russians now elect to do!

SOF

I am also for Option 2. Its clear US is trying to do something funny here. We cannot be fooled by the different color of the SDF flag. SDF is the Daesh sequel now that the Daesh project has clearly become a total failure.

This SouthFront video forgot to mention that there are more oil fields extending from Omar oil fields all the way to the Syrian-Iraq border along the northern banks of the Euphrates. Its obvious why the US has threatened the SAA with annihilation, they know if they can get these oil fields their SDF pets will continue to get the money and resources to cause trouble to Syria and enable them to create a proxy state as a base of operations for future ‘managing’ of Iraq and Syria. SAA crossing the Euphrates and securing the oil fields will rob the US of their last hope of gaining something out of their failed Grand Chessboard strategy.

Sooner or later Syria will have to do something with the rest of its land north of the Euphrates and will need a lot of help for it now that its going up against more fearsome fighters with an army that is almost broken by its six year war with the Daesh at a loss of half a million Syrians.

Anna News correspondents showed the size of the force that succeeded in breaking the siege of Deir Ezzor (west), and it was barely larger than a couple of platoons. Economic warfare against the Petrodollar-run backers of the SDF is the most effective way to cut off funding, and then destroy the abandoned forces piecemeal. The war with Daesh took a long time because of funding and counter-productive ‘ceasefires’.

John Whitehot

look, escalations aren’t good for anybody.

and you can be sure that even if there is an all-out escalation, up to usage of thermonuclear weapons, israel will be erased together with all the goyms.

Spectator

Last night before i asked my if before she closes her eyes about her impression looking at the map . She told that kurds will take all the lands between the rivers (because americans warned that the river crossing is forbiden). At my humble point of view RU/SAA and allies shall focus on the southern river shoreS from Al Busayrah to Al Asharah. This would bea 35-40 km long battle front where they would be enough extended to easily dominate IS surprises… the cross the river, gain Omar Oil Field and push north to gain AT LEAST the easter Khabur River shores to stop the new purely ethnical/racial JKurdish state

Racial? This isn’t the C19th babe.

Kell

Kurdestan is unmistakably an enthno state, as is Israel ie your race defines whether you can live there or not.

Carol Binkley

1. Do you suppose IS exaggerates?

2. Do you suppose there is another “…deception, with tact…” taking place?

Carol Binkley

For you, Baghdadi:

“The more I see, the more I fall, no place to hide I better take the call I get deeper, and deeper”. “Deeper and Deeper”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0EmyVNgCic

Carol Binkley

1. To liberate the remaining ISIS-held area in Deir Ezzor city; 2. To outflank the city in order to encircle it and to block further SDF advances in its northern countryside.

What option do you think they will choose, Baghdadi?

Carol Binkley

Which do you suppose is safer for you, Baghdadi? North of the Euphrates, al-Mayadin, or Uqayribat? Or maybe even Southeastern Syria? KiraSeer

Carol Binkley

“Cara Mia, Why?”

There is not way to avoid escalation of the war since SDF (kurds, USA-puppets) will not stop until someone stop them. IS TIME FOR SYRIA TO SHOW KURDS WHO ARE THE OWNER OF THIS COUNTRY AND THE LAND WHERE THEY ARE STANDING, or maybe I am wrong. WHAT IS RUSSIA AND SYRIA WAITING TO STOP SDF ?

Thegr8rambino

IM GOIN WIT OPTION B!

Rob

There are two groups in the world.

1. An evil terror group leads by America. They crush nations like sugarcane in the mill and steal their resources rich lands.

2. An anti terror group leads by Russia to protect the nations and their resources rich lands in the world.

Orcbuu

And it is like this for more then 11 thousand years already.

Garo Koparanian

Trump government said they’re only in Syria to defeat Isis. Once Isis are defeated Russia will ask them very politely to go back to Iraq.

Nigel Maund

Folks here is the latest major danger to emerge for Syria – an Israeli – Saudi Alliance to relaunch the war to overthrow President Assad and plunge the country into more war, misery, suffering and chaos by the world’s two most dangerous States that by a very large margin eclipse North Korea as threats to mankind:

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-11/breaking-news-saudi-crown-princes-secret-visit-israel-brings-embassy-scramble

Read especially the last two paragraphs!!

Kell

Maybe they are better to just go for Al-Mayadan now, capture it and cross the bridge/repair. Omars right across the other side of the river – assuming these IS zio-fkwits might actually fight the kurds and slow them down but from what we have seen so far its a set up and IS and the Kurds are working hand in hand.

Ronald

There is a road from Dier Ezzor running north east to , As Suwar , cross now , and follow that line to the Iraqi border . SDF troop force can not be very large , if SAA does not cross now , the US has achieved their ” Sunnistan ” , and partitioned Syria . The US Kurdish commander , is not God , and can not claim to speak for the US. When SAA is established on the east bank , neither the Kurds or the Americans will dare attack them .

Justin

THE KURDS ARE THE SAME AS ISIS!!!! So the Turks were right to call the Kurds TERRORISTS! THey are doing the same as ISIS! They are stealing land with the help of sponsors KSA, USA and Israel (the same sponsors Isis had) They are stealing the oil rich lands. THey are forming a new state that crosses borders. This new state is just like the Isis caliphate. Except this state crosses Iraq, Syria, turkey and Iran. So instead of an Islamic state caliphate, we get a Kurdish state. Everyone needs to stop having sympathy for the Kurds and sdf. The saying “why let a catastrophe go to waste”! The kurds are USA’s plan B. It give the USA and Israel a beach head smack in the middle of Iraq, Syria, Iran and turkey. Also contains Russia’s southern caucus area / Caspian Sea. From here New defensive missile batteries can be placed AND these missile batteries can be used to launch offensive cruise missiles. So ENOUGH of defending Kurds. Enough of tolerating DutchNational and any pro American commenters on this site. For all we know they are paid trolls. They should ALL be down voted, flagged, spammed, attacked. We have our own MEDIA WAR to fight. Do your part. Contain these pro USA / Jewish trolls!! Support the good people WHO HAVE BEEN INVADED and are defending their nation and people. We can atleast do our part too. I want to see an effort made by all commenters on this site to shut these supporters of SDF up. SDF is the new ISIS. THREATENING THE SAA that if one bullet strayed towards them over the Euphrates that they would attack?? Wtf! “THIS IS SYRIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”!

Cyrus

It seems like time is short and the 3rd option is to embark on a series of well publicized Paratrooper air drops. As soon as the River is crossable then this line can be reinforced/supplied. Once the SAA and Russians are on the ground all will understand you can not cross the line. Do not mention Hezbollah, Iran or any resistance forces beside the SAA and the Russians embedded with them in every unit. Russian Air Force needs to 1000% make it known that Any aggression by Any force against its embedded service members will be an act of War against Russia. This should be the largest Paratrooper/ Airdrop since WW2, soldiers, Tanks, Techs, air Defense are all drop-able by Russia. We need the practice and it will draw the line as close to current SDF positions as possible/ strategic importance. All the way to the Iraqi border. Syria, Russia, Iran, all need to go all in and draw the line now.

Nigel Maund

FOLKS – HERE IS THE GAME CHANGER IN THE SYRIAN CONFLICT

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-11/breaking-news-saudi-crown-princes-secret-visit-israel-brings-embassy-scramble

THIS SPELLS REAL TROUBLE AS THE HIDEOUS DUO IN THE MIDDLE EAST TRY TO ALTER THE OUTCOME IN SYRIA BEFORE IT’S JUST TOO LATE

adzsiam

What about outflanking DZ and advancing to Albukamal and the Iraqi / Syrian border and undertake a river crossing around there?! The ISIS pockets in central Syria can be contained, its these two locations that I feel are priority.

JP Moreau

NATO’s Anarchist Brigades

by Thierry Meyssan

Presented in the West as the realization of a friendly utopia, the brand new « Rojava » is in reality a colonial state, designed and cemented in blood by Washington. This time, the plan is to expel the populations of the North of Syria and replace them with people who were not born there. In order to implement this ethnic cleansing, the Pentagon and the CIA have mobilised combatants from the circles of the European extreme-left. Thierry Meyssan reveals this insane project which has been ongoing for the last eighteen months.

In February 2016, the White House « anti-terrorist Tsar », Brett McGurk, was sent by President Obama to supervise the battle of Aïn al-Arab (Kobane). On this occasion, he was decorated by the YPG (People’s Protection Units), whose head office – the Turkish PKK – is nonetheless considered by Washington to be a « terrorist organisation ».

« War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength ».

George Orwell, 1984.

In the ’80’s and ’90’s, Kurdish society was extremely feudal and patriarchal. It was maintained in a severe state of under-development, which pressured the Kurds to rise up against the military dictatorships which succeeded one another in Ankara [1].

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK was a Marxist-Leninist organisation, supported by the Soviet Union, which fought against the dictatorships of the Kemalist generals, who were members of NATO. It freed women and joined progressist combats. With the aid of Hafez el-Assad, it set up a military training camp in the Lebanese plain of Bekaa, under the protection of the Syrian Peace Force, close to the camp of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FPLP).

During this period, the PKK could not find words strong enough to denounce « American imperialism ».

When the USSR collapsed, the PKK had more than 10,000 full-time soldiers and more than 75,000 reservists. This war of liberation destroyed more than 3,000 villages and displaced more than 2 million people. Despite their immense sacrifice, it failed.

Arrested in Kenya in 1999, during a joint operation with the Turkish, US and Israëli secret services, the historic leader of the revolt, Abdullah Öcalan, was imprisoned on the island of İmrali in the Sea of Marmara. The PKK collapsed, divided between its imprisoned chief, favourable to peace negotiations, and its lieutenants, for whom war had become a way of life. There were a few more terrorist attacks but it was not clear which were due to combatants who refused to disarm, or to a fraction of the gendarmerie, the JITEM, (Gendarmerie Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism) which also refused the cease-fire.

At the beginning of the « Arab Spring », from his cell, Abdullah Öcalan rebuilt the PKK around a new ideology. After secret negotiations with NATO in the İmrali prison, he abandoned Marxist-Leninism for « libertarian municipalism ». This man, who had always struggled against Turkey in order to build his own state, Kurdistan, now believed that any state is in itself a tool of oppression [2].

The militants of the PKK, who had been forced to flee Turkey during the civil war, had found refuge in the North of Syria [3]. In the name of his followers, Öcalan had pledged in writing that he would never lay a claim to Syrian territory. In 2011, at the beginning of the Western war against Syria, the Kurds formed militias to defend the country which had given them shelter and awarded them Syrian nationality.

However, on 31 October 2014, Salih Muslim – one of the co-presidents of the YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK, took part in a secret meeting at the Elysées Palace with French President François Hollande and his Turkish opposite number, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. There he was promised that he would become the head of state if he agreed to re-create Kurdistan… in Syria.

Immediately, the International Coalition, which the United States had just created, allegedly to counter Daesh, offered support to the YPG, providing it with money, training, weapons and supervision. All the imprecations against US imperialism were abandoned, since Washington had now become such a worthy ally. The Kurdish organisation began to expel the original inhabitants from the regions they had chosen for themselves.

US publicity

Since so far there had been no military engagement by the YPG against Daesh, the United States stage-managed a terrible confrontation at Aïn al-Arab, rebaptised for the occasion with the Kurmanji name of Kobane. The international Press was invited to cover the event without risk. The town of Kobane is situated on the Syro-Turkish border, and the journalists were able to follow the combats from Turkey – with binoculars. We don’t really know what happened at Aïn al-Arab, since the Press was not allowed to enter the town. However, we are in possession of images filmed with tele-photo lenses, and they seem clearly to confirm the stories telling of the brutality of the combats. In any case, the West unanimously concluded that the Kurds were the allies they needed to fight Daesh and Syria.

« No God, no state ! ». « Come and defend the state of « Rojava » and fight against all forces of reaction » – alongside the American Empire.

The Western Press assures us that half of the Kurdish soldiers are women, as are, by statute, half of the leaders of the PKK/YPG. However, on the ground, their presence is rare. Journalistes also affirm that they terrify the jihadists, for whom dying at the hand of a woman is a curse which would forbid them access to paradise. Curiously, the same Press seems to ignore that the Syrian Arab Army also includes female battalions which the jihadists attack with the same rage as their male counterparts.

Despite appearances, the YPG are not as numerous as they claim. Many Syrian Kurds consider the United States as an enemy power, and Syria as their new homeland. They refuse to adhere to the fantasies of Salih Muslim. So the Pentagon has added to the number of « their » Kurds, not only a few Arab and Assyrian mercenaries, but above all, militants from the European extreme-left.

Just as the CIA has enrolled tens of thousands of young Western Muslims in order to turn them into Islamists, in the same way, it has recruited European anarchists to create the International Brigades, on the model of those which fought in 1936 in Barcelona against the fascists. We can also find auxiliary YPG/NATO troops such as the Internationalist Antifascist Batallion (Central Europe), the Bob Crow Brigade (English and Irish), the Henri Krasucki Brigade (French), the International Revolutionary People’s Guerrilla Forces (Americas), the Revolutionary Union for Internationalist Solidarity (Greek), the Unity of the Marxist-Leninist Party (Spanish), and all the pro-US Turkish groupuscules (DK, DKP, MLSPB-DC, PDKÖ, SI, TDP, TKEP/L, TKPML) to mention only the most visible [4].

Come and fight against Capitalism, with the US Special Forces, in « Rojava » !

The battle of Aïn al-Arab, which was supposed to set the young Syrians favourable to the Caliphate against young Kurds, cost the lives, on both sides, of young Europeans in search of a better world. The European countries worry about the possible return of young jihadists to their home country, but not the return of young anarchists, although they are just as dangerous. This is probably because it is very much easier to manipulate the latter and recycle them into the next chapter of the imperialist adventures.

In June 2015, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), a new political expression of the PKK, received abundant financial support and CIA supervision, when running against Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s AKP. Suddenly, it broke through the 10% limit of votes it needed to enter the Grand National Assembly, and won 80 deputies.

On 17 March 2016, the YPG proclaimed the autonomy of « Rojava », which is the strip of land linking the area of Iraqi Kurdistan to the Mediterranean, along the Syro-Turkish border, but only on the Syrian side. « Rojava » therfore partially includes the zone of Idleb, which is currently occupied by Al-Qaïda.

Since this state has been proclaimed by people who were not born there to the detriment of those who were, it is a colonial project, comparable to Israël, self-proclaimed in Palestine by Jews who had bought land there. The denomination « Rojava » was chosen in order to distinguish the territory from « Kurdistan » which is in Turkey, where it was proclaimed in 1920 by the Sèvres Conference [5].

At the moment when the Emirate of Al-Qaïda in Idleb and the Caliphate of Daesh in Rakka are shrinking rapidly, NATO is pursuing its plan for the dislocation of the Syrian Arab Republic, and intends to create the « Rojava » of Kameshli.

The Western Press gazes hypnotised at this « Rojava », draped with all the fashionable virtues – pacifist, egalitarian, feminist, ecologist, favourable to gender construction, etc. [6]. It doesn’t matter that the YPG is in fact an army. It doesn’t matter that it is fighting the historic inhabitants of the North of Syria, the Arabs and the Assyrians, because on paper, it has created the Democratic Forces with them.

In Syria, the European Anarchist Brigades are fighting under US command.*

The programmes of the Syrian YPG and the Turkish HDP are in line with US military strategy. Since 2001, the Pentagon has been planning for the medium-term « remodeling of the Greater Middle East », in other words, the division of large States into small homogenous States incapable of resistance. In the longer term, it is planning to oppose them, one against the other, until it has battered the region into a state of primeval chaos.

« Rojava » was not proclaimed as an independent State because, according to the new Öcalan, any nation-State is evil in itself. According to NATO, it is simply an autonomous State which will have to join other autonomous states such as those which will take the place of the nation-State of Syria once it has been overthrown. According to the presently most important theorist of « municipalism », the American Murray Bookchin, in order to function as a democracy, the libertarian communities must be homogenous. That is why the « pacifist » YPG is currently proceding with the ethnic cleansing of « Rojava ».

CQFD.

* We pay very serious attention to the veracity of our information, and had planned to illustrate this article with a video made by a group of German anarchists who had joined the forces of NATO and the YPG in Rojava.

We posted this proof on our YouTube account in the evening of Sunday 10 September.

YouTube, which clearly does not share our requirements in service of the truth, immediately censored this proof as being « contrary to its deontology » (sic).
