Syrian Warplanes Deliver Strikes On Idlib Militants: For First Time Since September

Illustrative image

For the first time in more than five months, warplanes of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) carried out airstrikes on positions of radical militants in the southern Idlib countryside.

The twenty airstrikes, which took place on the morning of on February 24, covered the towns of Sukayk, Tamana, Khwein, Zarzur and Khan Shaykhun, according to Syrian opposition sources.

The SyAAF halted its activates over the opposition-held areas in northwestern Syria following the Russian-Turkish demilitarized zone agreement on Idlib last September. This pause ended on February 24.

The aerial attack was likely a response to the repeated violations of the demilitarized zone agreement. In the last two weeks, militants shelled many residential areas in Lattakia, Hama and Aleppo, including Qurdaha, the hometown of Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. At least one civilian was killed in these attacks.

The demilitarized zone agreement appears to be on the brink of collapse. Turkey has failed to fulfill its commitments to separate terrorists from the “moderate opposition”. If the agreement collapses, Damascus and its allies will likely opt for a limited military operation against Idlib’s militants.

Ok, now you are back in the game Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF), keep it up and cleanse as much as you can, before that Erdy gobs off and makes a new deal somewhere and with someone.

This is exactly what SAA must do continuously without stop, even if Russia wants to stop it to please Turkey.

Boris Kazlov

Pussy Russia just want to lure Turkey away from the USA embrace, difficult task, since two-face Erdo goes to bed with both at the same time, one from the front and the other one from the rear end.

China needs to enter this scene. They have the perfect excuse with Chinese terrorists fighting in Syria with ISIS.

That is a lot of airstrikes. It sounds more like prep than retaliation.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I posted in SF just yesterday that I found it curious that the SAAF hadn’t been conducting any airstrikes, over not just Idlib, but any of Syria’s territory over the last few months. The Eastern areas of Homs and the Central western areas of Deir ez Zor still have an Isis presence, and Isis has repeatedly attacked SAA controlled Abu Kamal on the Euphrates river several times, from the SAA controlled side of the river, but the SAA stationed there didn’t receive any air support from the SAAF, mmmmm. I don’t think the articles claim that the SAAF hasn’t conducted airstrikes over Idlib for 5 months is right either, I’m not going to check now but I will later, mmmm. Could the SAAF have been refitting and upgrading for the last few months, and training their pilots how to use the new equipment or jets effectively, and could they then be used in any upcoming offensive in Idlib, mmmmm, I hope so.

Its time to take Idlib. SAA waited to long, as Russia try please Turkey the NATO member for Russia own interest, not the Syria interest. Turkey failed make any progress and is unwilling make any progress. Turkey is playing both sides, Russia and USA. Turkey at the end will sided with USA

RichardD

The US withdrawal has been called off. And the terror supporters, including Turkey, have made it clear that they have no interest in turning any territory over to the Syrian government. It’s clear that the Turks aren’t going to obtain or compel cooperation from the terrorists. And that the only way that the Syrian government is going to resolve this problem is by resuming clearing operations and moving the front lines forward. And recover Idlib, and then work on Afrin, the NE and Al-Tanf.
