Aleppo International Airport in northern Syria has resumed operations after being hit by a series of Israeli airstrikes on August 28.

“The Aleppo international airport resumed operation starting at midnight today after the damage incurred as a result of [Israel’s] aggression was repaired,” the Syrian Ministry of Transportation said in a statement that was released just a day after the attack.

According to the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, the strikes were carried out by four Israeli F-16 fighter jets. As a result of the strikes, the runway of Aleppo International Airport was damaged. All flights were temporarily redirected to Latakia and Damascus.

Al Hadath TV channel said in a report that the strikes targeted weapons depots belonging to Iranian-backed forces. These claims are yet to be verified.

This was the fourth confirmed Israeli attack on Syria this month. On August 7, a series of strikes hit military posts near Damascus, killing four soldiers. Later on August 21, a soldier was wounded and several strikes targeted a key base in the outskirts of the capital.

Israel has carried out hundreds of air attacks against Syria over the past decade, but it rarely acknowledges responsibility. Still, Israeli officials repeatedly warned that they will not allow their arch-foe Iran to expand its military presence in the war-torn country or smuggle advanced weapons from there to Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon.

the wall between west and east is on fire again, because power plates are moving on between west and east… syria is on the middle of the wall west established on israel after wwii, so the wall will show us, who are going to win, if the wall falls, then the east is winning but from now on west are in control.
