The elite Tiger Forces are being redeployed from the northern Hama countryside to the government-held area on the western bank of the Euphrates River, several Syrian pro-government sources report on December 21.
A source in the Tiger Forces confirmed these reports to SouthFront and said that the redeployment process will take several days. However, he declined to provide further information.
According to pro-government activists, the Tiger Forces’ new mission will be countering the threat of the remaining ISIS fighters in the Homs desert, which lays between the western bank of the Euphrates River and the eastern Homs countryside. The force may launch a military operation in the desert in the upcoming few weeks.
The deployment, which comes after the U.S. decision to withdraw troops from Syria, suggests that the elite force may also carry out some sensitive tasks in the northeastern part of the country, if Damascus reaches an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). One of the possible tasks will be deterring the Turkish military, that’s planing to attack the region.

Ending the ISIS pocket in the Eastern Desert is now time critical. I know that the government believed that limited water supplies and resource depletion would do in the desert jihadists last summer but they are still there. And now this sudden U.S. pullout presents Syria with a major problem. The SDF will soon have to move hardened units North to buttress defenses against Turkish plans therby leaving a power vacuum in the lower Euphrates. If ISIS breaks out they’re not likely to find an easy way through Iraqi defenses to the East so, Westward Ho to the Desert, and on toward Palmyra, then even Hama or the Damascus suburbs. The SAA has to move fast and win this rapidly oncoming power vacuum game of musical chairs. The game’s afoot and don’t think for one second that the Tanf militants won’t pledge for ISIS as the U.S. pulls out.
Kind of agree, but the US pullout presents Syria with an opportunity, not problem. “SDF airforce” is gone :). Sooner or later it had to happen – with the S300s the US couldn’t risk to bully the SAA anymore whilst the SAA wouldn’t directly attack any US assets, so all that Syria had to do was wait until it became pointless for the US to sit around watching camel spiders. There’s only one way out for the SDF – re-conciliate with the Syrian Government. If they do it wisely without causing trouble, the Kurds might get more autonomous rights in N Syria than they used to. The Turks will then have no choice but go back home as well & best they take their FSA & HTS terrorists with them, or leave them in Idlib and watch the SAA take them out one by one. Those few ISIS pockets will be dealt with just like East of Suweida

The Kurds already had autonomy before the western-backed mercenary war started, then they decided to try and carve a new state out of Syrian lands. They turned their backs on the Syrian people that were under no obligations to give them refuge from the Turks. No autonomy, no special privileges, become an actual citizen of Syria, Period, or fuck off back to Turkey to face Erdogan’s salafist jihadi forces, their choice.
I am aware the Kurds had some autonomy before. But take it all from them might cause similar problems as Turkey has got with the PKK and that’s not a solution. The only reason why Syria has survived this slaughter arranged by Zio-Neocons is because of Assad’s popularity, based on unity and secularism. “Divide and conquer” hasn’t worked here and overwhelming the SAA with brute force hasn’t worked either, also thanks to the aid of Russia and Iran

The Deployment of Tiger Forces to Deir Ezzor also infers the combat support of Russian specialists and airpower East of the Euphrates in my opinion.
if the russians get involved in what you saying it be a very big surprise and clean the mess their policies have created. The unfortunate part is their policies have also divided syria in 3 pieces that now more than likely if I read the picture correctly will all none syrian controlled land will go under the occupation of the turks. This is a fixed set up game not something it just happened, by luck and circumstances.
That means they went to Deir ez Zor if they were deployed near the Euphrates. Syrialiveuamap shows Isis operating in the south of Deir ez Zor and the eastern areas of Homs, the Tiger forces would be pushing south from near Deir ez Zor City itself I’m presuming or close by, Abu Kamal to the east is already brimming with SAA so mot from there. If the US exclusion zone at Al Tanf is no longer in force, they’ll be able to push all the way south to this breeding ground for Isis and totally eradicate them from the south. But there’s still 4600 Isis fighters still roaming around Ar Raqqah and Al Hasakah, as well as the 1500 the SDF is still fighting at Hajin, so even if Assad does clean up the south, he’ll still have to deal with the ones the SDF let get away. 4600 ISIS FIGHTERS STILL LEFT IN THE NORTH HIDING, WITH TANKS, ARTILLERY, VEHICLES AND LOCAL SUPPORT. Has everyone forgotten it wasn’t all captured and destroyed, just a small portion of it was, all that ex SAA equipment is still out there somewhere. Some people laugh when I post that, and say where the hell could they hide tanks, heavy artillery and vehicles, but I just laugh and say, well where the hell is it then, less than half the equipment Isis confiscated from the SAA was destroyed or captured by the US, did they vanished into thin air maybe. Isis is not over by a long shot, they still have some equipment and troops that will only be used at the right time, and the right time isn’t now, I don’t know when it will be, but Isis will let us now when it is. Unless Assad and the Russians get then first that is.
