A new Turkish-backed faction, dubbed the Syria’s Free Movement (SFM), had been established in the occupied area of Afrin in northern Aleppo.
On November 27, the new faction organized a small parade in Afrin with dozens of fighters and several truck-mounted heavy machine guns.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the SFM is under the direct command of the Turkish intelligence. The faction is not a member of the Syrian National Army (SNA), which controls the occupied areas in northern and northeastern Syria.
A commander of the SFM, Hassan Abu Alaa, told the SOHR that the faction, which includes Arab, Kurdish and Turkmen fighters, will be working side by side with the SNA.
“We are backed by Turkey,” the commander said. “Our goal is to fight the Syrian regime, Kurdish separatist parties, and those outside the scope of the Syrian revolution.”
The commander went on to reveal that the SFM has an all-female unit. He did not, however, clarify what role it will be exactly playing.
The new faction will not likely change the current situation and balance of power in Afrin, where a state of lawlessness is prevailing.

There was no state of lawlessness before the Turks and their proxies arrived, and since they have arrived there’s been only one law of the land, the law of the gun.

Let me guess, if they’re all as pretty as pictures and all have the bodies of Goddesses I think I know what they’ll they be doing, and it won’t be guarding important infrastructure or fighting on the front lines, I hope the Kurds are thinking with their heads and not their you know what’s.
And who are the Kurdish fighters joining the new faction/Intelligence organization, are they SNC members or just some of the nut job Kurds who are already fighting alongside Turkey, hopefully they’re not SNC, if they are the SDF may reconsider that power sharing agreement they came to with the SNC just recently.
