On December 1, a group of Taliban fighters wearing suicide belts attacked the directorate of agriculture extension in the city of Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan, according to the Pakistani Geo News TV.
The media outlet said that 9 civilians including university students were killed, and 30 others were injured in the attack.
Geo News reported that several units of the Pakistani Police and security forces led by Senior Superintendent of Police Operations (SSPO) Sajjad Khan and Peshawar Capital City Police Officer Tahir Khan were rapidly deployed to the attack site and were eliminated all the attackers. The Pakistani Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that all the attackers were killed in the operation.
“They could have wreaked havoc but the police and army successfully neutralized the threat,” SSPO Sajjad told Geo News.
Pakistani sources said that the attackers were fighters of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, the Taliban’s wing in Pakistan.
Commenting on the attack, ISPR Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the Peshawar attack by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan proves that “terrorists and their abettors are based in Afghanistan”. Maj. Gen. Ghafoor also revealed that Pakistan provided Afghanistan with a proof that the Taliban was behind Peshawar attack.
“We are in dialogue with the Afghan DGMO. We have provided proofs of today’s attack to him. The Afghan government and forces must look into this issue to see how we can get rid of this danger. Our cooperation is with Afghanistan … We hope that there will be developments on the recommendations we have provided to the delegation” Maj. Gen. Ghafoor said during an interview on Geo News.
Previously, high ranking US and Afghanistan officials accused Pakistan of hiding the Taliban leadership inside its territory, and arming the Taliban fighters in southern Afghanistan. However, no evidence of this supposed cooperation between Pakistan and the Taliban were presented.

The Taliban are proof as to what happens when you allow Jihadis to grow and support them against your neighbor. Blow back! They may be useful idiots, but they recognize no master. And just because you feed them doesn’t mean they are grateful. Eventually, when they think the time is right, they will bite the hand that feeds them.
