Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the political deputy of the Taliban, called for the withdrawal of US-led coalition troops from Afghanistan calling their presence the main obstracle to peace.

He made the remarks to a gathering of Russian and Afghan government personnel, as well as representatives from prominent political groups from the war-torn country, during the meeting to mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Afghanistan in Moscow.

“The Islamic Emirate [Taliban] is truly committed to peace but the first step is to remove obstacles in the way of peace, meaning the occupation of Afghanistan must come to an end,” Baradar said.

During the same meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also urged foreign forces leave Afghanistan. He underscored the importance of bilateral relations, saying Russia is ready to offer more help to Afghanistan to fight terrorist groups led by ISIS and drug-trafficking networks.

“This conflict in Afghanistan has no military solution and the only way to settle this issue is to rely on diplomacy and politics. We believe all foreign military [forces] should be withdrawn from the country and the society of Afghanistan should unite in finding a solution,” Lavrov said.

“We believe that Afghanistan should stay united where all the ethnic groups can live peacefully. We hope that peace will settle in Afghanistan as soon as possible.”

Despite 20 years of an illegal brutal occupation, the US and 53 NATO and other assorted puppets have achieved nothing in Afghanistan. If they had an iota of decency they should leave, but unfortunately US wants to loot Afghan minerals, especially rare earth metals worth $1 trillion.

A CIA report stated:

Afghanistan has abundant non-fuel mineral resources, including both known and potential deposits of a wide variety of minerals ranging from copper, iron, and sulfur to bauxite, lithium, and rare-earth elements crucial to US and western industrial economies. The control over Afghanistan’s natural resources is critical to US economy and industry.

The CIA and DEA are running Afghan opium to fund terrorism in the region, Africa and Latin America, dating back to the 1980’s Contras and the Jew Elliot Abrams reappearance from his coffin along with Bolton.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

what would force US to leave then?

A more unified Afghan resistance beyond the Pakistani fanned sectarianism. Better provision of weaponry to the resistance and mostly importantly inflicting more pain on the occupation forces. The US and NATO are very casualty averse and are exhausted by 20 years of a totally fruitless war and occupation. If you recall, the US, NATO, Saudis, EmiRATis and other US puppets spent over $9 billion (today’s $110 billion) in fighting the USSR in the 1980’s using Pakistan as the main conduit. The whole sordid exercise is described in detail by the Pakistani Brigadier Mohammad Yousaf in his book BEAR TRAP. A similar large scale arming operation needs to be conducted to bleed the US occupation forces. They will cut and run as history has shown from Korea, Vietnam to Algeria.

Taliban and Russia want us to leave and return to unemployment and food stamps in America……..LOL. That will be the day! If you want us to leave you must give us guarantees that we get the same conditions, same housing, same salary and a pension schemes that we have it in Afghanistan. Otherwise we will not leave and if you sneaky guys want us on food stamps we will take all of you down the drain with us………………..LOL.

Andrei

The difference between Russia and America is that if Russia started a war at the end they bring peace and America not so in 1 word America is not for peace it is simply a country of mercenaries and supporters of them America == globalism == genocide ==armageddon

Sinbad2

From what I heard, the pay is so bad that married soldiers get food stamps.

Taliban have made history by defeating nuclear powers America and EU.

Brother Thomas

The Afghans also defeated the Soviet Union and the British Empire before that.

Lesson: Don’t even think of invading Afghan.

Rob

Afghans are strong nation but their CIA politicians are corrupt and destroying the country and nation lives.

If the US leaves it will mean it has finally given up forcing the TAPI pipeline an Afghanistan. It would have been much cheaper for the US to simply transit fees like everybody else does. American arrogance in believing they could subdue Afghanistan within weeks, led to them refusing to pay. The why pay when you have a gun attitude didn’t work, but they couldn’t admit they were wrong, so have kept up the charade for 18 years. The cost is one of the many nails in the American coffin.
