On September 3, the Taliban advanced deep in the northeastern Afghan province of Panjshir, the stronghold of a large resistance force led by Ahmad Massoud Jr.
Sources affiliated with the Taliban claimed that the group’s fighters had imposed control of the districts of Shutal and Paryan. However, other Afghan sources went as far as claiming that the enter province has fallen into the hand of the Taliban.

Amrullah Saleh, former Afghan Vice President and one of the top leaders of the Panjshir resistance, denied reports claiming that he fled Afghanistan. In a message to the BBC, the leader acknowledged that the situation in the province is difficult.
A video message sent to us @BBCWorld from one of the leaders of the anti-Taliban resistance, fmr VP @AmrullahSaleh2 who says they're under attack from terrorists and points the finger of blame at Pakistan. A few hours after launching the attack, Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban, claimed that 11 “important” positions along the main road leading to the eastern province of Badakhshan had been captured.
The Taliban negotiated with the leaders of resistance forces in Panjshir for nearly two weeks. However, the two sides failed to reach an agreement.
The ongoing offensive on Panjshir is meant to subdue resistance forces and force their leaders to accept the rule of the Taliban. The group will not likely announce its “government” before solving the crisis in Panjshir.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. LMFAO. Where are the Pro Panjshir Pussies now?
Breaking News at 6 47 local (Afghan) time – Panjshir has fallen to Taliban. Saleh and Masooud have fled LoL – leaving their troops to face the music Fkin Cowards
Hasn’t fallen yet but important positions have been taken by the Taliban and some of the militias have surrendered.
I discount this talk of Saleh and Massoud Jr fleeing. How can they flee? Panjshir is deep inside Afghanistan and surrounded by Taliban controlled territory.
puppets zionnist coward :)
lmao @ the first video, they couldnt turn the Humvee
Resistance forces?what they didn’t resist was Nato occupation.
massoud may have surrendered.
The Soviets never established lasting control over Panjshir but entered and left Panjshir at will. The rest is just a myth
It is a valley pass. That is reason it could hold out for a few extra weeks. But once the high ground positions on each side of valley fall it’s all over. Ultimately, the Taliban will be able to bring more manpower and larger caliber weapons to this fight. And the Taliban will not leave this alone. They learnt their lesson the hard way in 2001. When the remaining Northern Alliance controlled pocket was used as the initial US entry point for invasion. To leave this alone now would be to leave themselves with exactly the same exposure. Meaning, an area always ripe for foreign intelligence services to intervene and create a thorn in their side. Safe to say, it’s a strategic imperative for Taliban, and they’ll take as many losses as they need to secure province.
