Taliban has attacked an Afghan army base in the southern province of Kandahar, killing some 15 soldiers, the Afghan Defense Ministry said on Friday.
A defense ministry spokesman, Dawlat Waziri, said that Taliban members “launched a coordinated assault on an army base last night [Thursday] in the Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar province.” According to Waziri, 15 Afghan soldiers were killed and 5 others were wounded.
Some reports argue that 20 soldiers were killed. However, these claims have not been confirmed by the military.
On Monday, Taliban attacked the Achakzai camp of army corps 205 in the same district, killing some 10 soldiers.
