Taliban Kills Dozens Of Soldiers In New Attack In Northern Afghanistan

Taliban fighters during Operation al-Khandagh

On August 15, Taliban fighters conducted a hit and run attack on several military bases and checkpoints of the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP) in the district of Baghlan-i Markazi in the northern province of Baghlan, according to the Taliban news agency Voice of Jihad.

The Taliban claimed that its fighters killed more than 70 personnel of the ANA and the ANP during the attack, including several officers. Furthermore, Voice of Jihad said that Taliban fighters captured four vehicles and several heavy and light machineguns.

An unnamed Afghan official confirmed to the al-Jazeera TV that 9 Afghan policemen and 35 soldiers of the ANA were killed in the Taliban attack. According to the Qatari TV channel, Taliban fighters set fire to the bases and checkpoints before withdrawing.

Voice of Jihad said that the attack in Baghlan-i Markazi was a part of the Taliban’s spring offensive, codenamed “Operation al-Khandagh”, which was launched on April 25 in response to Washington’s decision to increase the US military presence in Afghanistan.

This was the second largest attack of the Taliban this month. Last week, the Afghan group killed more than 200 personnel of the ANA and the ANP in a large-scale attack on the southeastern city of Ghazni.

These attacks didn’t only inflict heavy casualties on Afghan government forces, but also proved that the Taliban’s influence and military capabilities are growing.

U mean when u realize Hezbollah look, and are, more professional than the IDF? Right?

d'Artagnan

The is no better trained, led or motivated military in the region than Hezbollah. It even supersedes most NATO militaries in equipment and training, and after 7 year constant combat experience from Iraq, Syria to Occupied Palestine, Hezbollah today is stronger than it has ever been. The next war with Zionists will be a shocker for all. Hezbollah full-time combat strength now exceeds 150,000 cadre of Shia diaspora and allied Christians and Druze. Hezbollah can call up almost unlimited reserves from the 400 million strong Shia diaspora from Yemen to Iraq, Syria, Europe, Asia, Africa and not to mention Iran, the home of Shia and its protector. Only the most idiotic fools would tangle with Hezbollah.

No not really Hezbollah while well equiped still is not even close to the level of the IDF.

The Taliban have a regular military academy now and have cooperation with various foreign allies. The have captured enough modern weaponry from the US created ANA epic failure Afghan army and can arm over 200,000 men. The Taliban now have heavy weaponry, night vision equipment and most have kevlar body armor. Next phase will be SAMS and Manpads with Taliban units. Russian GRU estimates that Taliban have over $4 billion in captured US and NATO weaponry and their skill set is that of a modern mobile military. The US idiots have sure MISSION ACCOMPLISHED is the GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES.
