On November 23, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) retaliated to a new violation of the Russian-Turkish deconfliction agreement in the northern Hama countryside, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

“Terrorist groups of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Horas al-Din organization launched several rockets which fell in the parameter of the town of Suran causing material damage,” the SANA’s reporter in northern Hama said.

The SAA artillery and rocket launchers responded by shelling several positions of Horas al-Din and its allies in the northern Hama countryside. As a result, rocket launchers of the terrorist group were destroyed.

Horas al-Din and other al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in northwestern Syria founded a joint operations room under the name “Wa Harid al-Muminin” last month. Since then, the operations room has been working to sabotage the deconfliction agreement.

Under the agreement, Turkey is responsible for neutralizing radical groups in northwestern Syria. However, to this day Ankara has not taken any step to fulfil this condition.
