The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated the town of al-Susah in the middle Euphrates River Valley on January 17 following days of clashes with ISIS fighters, according to several local and Kurdish sources.

Four days ago, ISIS withdraw from the town of Bubadran, north of al-Susah, which allowed the SDF to liberate it without a real battle.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that the US-backed group has intensified its attack in order to liberate a 15 square kilometers strip on the eastern Bank of the Euphrates River, where the remaining ISIS fighters are hiding.

According to the SDF press center’s daily press release, US-led coalition warplanes carried out 56 airstrikes on the Euphrates Valley in the last 24 Hours. The airstrikes destroyed a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), positions, mortar cannons and tunnels of the terrorist group.

The SDF rapid advance and intense airstrikes of the coalition allowed more than 18,000 civilians and terrorists to run away from the ISIS-held pocket during the last few weeks. Thousands others are expected to flee in the upcoming few days as the terrorist group appears to be on the brink of total collapse.

Good job. 18.000 out is fine, but how many are died as well as still there.

The ens is near. Fine with me.

Dear South Front: the villages that keep changing hands seem to be more like listening posts in no-man’s land than actual ground to be held.
