According to battlefield reports, the Syrian army continued to push back the terrorist groups from their strongholds and restored security to more heights near Lattakia province’s border with Idlib province.
The battlefield reports said that the Syrian government forces deterred the large offensives of the terrorist groups and after a counter attack, the Syrian army forced them to retreat from the Heights of 1112 and 1154 and mountain of al-Zweiqat, killing several terrorists.
Meanwhile, a large number of the army’s experienced forces have joined the Syrian soldiers in Homs to fight against terrorist groups across the mountainous regions of Lattakia province near the border with Turkey and Idlib province.
“The Syrian army’s Desert Hawks Brigade, deployed in the battlefield of Homs province in Quaryatayn and Palmyra (Tadmur), has been dispatched to the Northern and Northeastern parts of Lattakia province to join the pro-government forces to cleanse the Aleppo-Lattakia highway and its nearby lands,” Farsnews cited anonymous sources.
A truce agreement was negotiated by Russia and the United States regarding Syrian conflict although many analysts suggested that the Washington had been supporting terrorists fighting against the Syrian government forces.
Nevertheless, the Arab country is currently observing an agreement for the cessation of hostilities which entered into force on February 27. The agreement stipulates the cessation of all military hostilities in Syria, except for the operations against ISIS terrorist group and al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front militants. From the middle of the March, Russia has been partially withdrawing troops and warplanes from Syria to make an end to the Syrian crisis.
