A key bridge linking the opposition-held part of the northwestern Hama countryside with the government-held areas was destroyed by terrorists in the early hours of April 18, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The state-run agency said that the terrorists planted several explosives charges in different parts of the bridge, which is located west of the strategic town of Qalaat al-Madiq, then detonated them completely destroying the bridge.
According to a report by Sputnik, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its close ally, the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), were behind the bridge destruction. HTS is the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, while the TIP is still loyal to the terrorist group.
“Chinese militants of the TIP destroyed the useful parts of the al- Tuwayni bridge last night in cooperation with militants of HTS under the excuse of preventing any attempt to smuggle fuel from the militant-held areas to the government-held areas,” the Russian news agency’s reporter said.
Last year, HTS and Turkish-backed militants destroyed three bridges around Idlib. The terrorists believe that destroying these bridges could hinder any future operation by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies in the region.
wonderful Russia/Turkey agreement for the terrorists and Turkey, isnt it ? Terrorists are becoming stronger and better equipped thanks to Turkey, and they will continue making attacks to Syria people over and over again. Of course, Israel also will continue its attacks to Syria instalations over and over again. All of this thanks to Russia. —-
