The Turkish DHA agency published testimony from an interrogation.
Alparslan Celik, who is the alleged murderer of the Russian SU-24 pilot Oleg Peshkov, denied the current charges of illegal weapon possession.
He was detained last month after showing up with his friends in a restaurant in Izmir, while carrying an AK-47 and two pistols. The police quickly showed up and arrested the man and confiscated his weapons. As a matter of fact, he hasn’t been charged with the murder of the Russian pilot.

He said, “I have nothing to do with weapons and ammunition that were found during a search. I only own a mobile phone with two SIM cards, which was discovered in a car. I was not involved in any actions on Turkish territory and I only wanted to visit wounded comrades in Denizli and Izmir. I deny the charges that I’m facing.”
A few weeks ago, it was reported that Celik pledged guilty on murdering Oleg Peshkov, and that he doesn’t regret it and would have done it again if he had the opportunity. However, Turkish and international authorities haven’t taken any steps to charging Celik for committing a war crime.
