The Congress Asks To Limit Biden's Military Powers

Illustrative Image

Submitted by Khaled Iskef.

On March 3rd, the US Senators proposed legislation to limit the president’s powers to use military force without Congress approval.

The rather symbolic proposal, which received support from members of the Republican and Democratic parties, called for the cancellation of decades old approvals that allow the use military force by the decision of the US President without the Congress agreement.

Through the proposed legislation, Representatives are trying to return the authority to declare war to Congress instead of the White House, as the legislation would cancel permission for the use of military force issued in 2002 Iraq War authorization and 1991 Gulf War resolution. However, it would not repeal a 2001 authorization for war against al-Qaeda, which US presidents used as a justification of airstrikes in all world regions and war on ISIS.

The text of the American Constitution would be restored, which gives the Congress authorization to launch war, unlike previous approvals that were used years ago to legislate the American wars in the Middle East by decisions of the American presidents.

The US Congressman Tim Kane said that the airstrikes in Syria last week showed that the executive branch, regardless of the party, would continue to expand its war powers.

The air strikes on Syria, that marked the beginning of Biden presidential term, aroused the anger of the American representatives and their warnings of the danger of entangling their country in new wars, as the previous administrations had done.

It’s noteworthy that the Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the US bombing that targeted Deir Al-Zour and called on the UN Security Council to put an end to the repeated US violations of Syrian sovereignty and violation of international laws and conventions.

SnowCatzor

I doubt it will pass. Too much sense for Washingscum.

The president is not supposed to have the ability to declare war. Only congress has this right. The president can only act in an emergency for a short period of time.

Jens Holm

Thats highly incorrect.

Raptar Driver

You are highly incorrect.

Hasbara Hunter

Bwahahaha…wtf…even Congress starts to worry about War-Mongering & Triggerhappy Z.I.O. JOE…Yeah better calm Biden down a bit before he starts Nukin’ the entire friggin’ World

Jens Holm

Thats highly incorrect. The former Leader of the Warcommity well known as McCain is vital for any warfare running any extra.

So a President by that part of the Congress only could make small wars in limited time.

I must confess to being somewhat perplexed at this development given Biden’s keen and insightful mind, bolstered no doubt by advizes and logiks given him by Tommy Jensen on these very pages. For example, while that dim witted Putin can take several HOURS to conduct HUNDREDS of questions, impromptu, to convey his mind, Biden does the job in mere SECONDS, in fact, actual questions at Biden pressers are not even required, given the unique communicative and spiritual properties enjoyed by the Great Shephard Biden, whose answers are conveyed even without words, beyond thought as we know it, and with an emotional depth that rivals that of even Great Khan, who graces us in these humble boards from time to time.

With such powers, the Great Shepherd the Arahant Biden, perhaps the greatest genius of all times and peoples, should surely have sole and total control over nuclear launch codes. I know I am fully satisfied the the status quo ante.

This is not about Biden but others like Trump and maybee Nixon. Its the same all over the world. You can elect or take in sensible leaders but unfortunatly You sometimes takes the opposit in.

So some sense or limitations has to be debated now and then. Thats how things should work.

ruca

They better include Kamalkunt Harris.

Assad must stay

inshallah he gets limited

klove and light

toooooo little……toooooooooooo late !!!

Jens Holm

I wouldnt do that. USA as anyone else can need rapid response.

BUT it could make sense the Warcomittee or the Congress could stop, accep and support it faster then today.

The image used for this piece does biden a credit he no longer possesses. Look into creepy uncle joe’s eyes these days and they are as black as coal. There is nothing there. He is very obviously ill and doesn’t know where he is half the time. Staring into space trying to remember lines isn’t a good look for a US president.

Congress have missed their warmongering perk and want it back. Denying the usurper in chief his nuclear codes will not stop the ambitions of those behind the scenes pulling all the strings. It’s the MIC that runs america.

Trap Is Not Gay

Over 90% of the USA congress are Jewish and/or Jewish married.
