The main battlefield in Ukraine remains the Severodonetsk-Lisichansk metropolitan area.
The city of Severodonetsk and the industrial zone of the Azot plant are under full control of the military of the Russian Federation and the Luhansk People’s Republic. On the city’s outskirts, Russian-led forces mopped up the towns of Voronovo and Sirotino. The Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled from all their positions on the left bank of the Seversky Donets River.
However, the advance of joint forces did not stop. The Russian military already launched the battle for Lisichansk. The city is currently blockaded from the eastern and southern directions. On the western outskirts, fighting reached the Lisichansk oil refinery, the Glass factory, the gelatin plant and the rubber production facilities.
On June 26, Russian units reportedly repelled the remaining Ukrainian forces from the town of Volcheyarovka on the south-western outskirts of Lisichansk. As a result Ukrainian units deployed in the Lisichansk oil refinery risk being cut off from the grouping in the city. Russian-allied forces have established military positions on the heights in the town of Volcheyarovka and now the Seversk-Lisichansk highway is under fire control of their artillery. The road was used by Ukrainian servicemen to move military supplies to their positions.
The Ukrainian military has lost the possibility of withdrawing the remaining forces from Lisichansk.
To the south, Ukrainian units deployed in the Gorskoe-Zolotoe area were trapped. Russian-led forces continue the mop up operation, destroying the last pockets of Ukrainian resistance.
The town of Gorskoe is almost completely secured. Russian forces are demining the area; discovering caches of weapons left by Ukrainian servicemen in the houses of local civilians.
In other Ukrainian regions, the front lines remain more stable.
The battle for the Island of Zmeiny is gaining momentum. The Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that the Ukrainian military had undertaken another attempt to hit Russian forces deployed on the island. The attack was thwarted by Russian Pantsir-S air defense systems. As a result, 1 Su-25 belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force and 12 rockets were destroyed.
The Black Sea region risks facing a new round of escalation in the very near future. After Kiev’s forces received the US-made Harpoon missiles supplied by their Western allies, they increased their attacks on the infrastructure near the Crimean peninsula.
Over the past week, Ukrainian forces struck drilling rigs located in the western shores of Crimea twice. As a result of the attacks, one of the rigs was destroyed and 7 people went missing.
Taking into account the increased reconnaissance activity of the US and NATO aircraft over the Black Sea region in recent days, new provocations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be expected.

I like many others have also been waiting for Odessa to be liberated but we also have to remember that Russia only has around 200k troops in Ukraine and that Russia has not declared war on Ukraine. Since this is a SMO which is 100 percent legal within the confines of international law according to Article 5 of the UN Charter, Russia has to first protect and fully liberate the people of the Donbass because they are still being shelled as we speak. After the Donbass is fully liberated and the people of East Ukraine are no longer under attack then Russia will focus on Odessa. Everybody is waiting including myself, its almost as if once Odessa is fully under Russian control it will symbolize a triumphant Russian victory regardless of what ends up happening in Kiev.

I ain’t the Russian but if it was me the operation to free Odessa would Begin,I would move in and force them to fight mad hit them hard and very hard till they tooth shook out. I would move about 80k towards the City my plan is to force them to fight and my intention will it be to enter the city but to destroy the Troops in battle,they either fight or retreat in the city. At this rate Russians need at least 2 months to finish liberation of Donbas including Slavyansk/Kramatorsk. After that they should focus on Kharkov, or central front on Zaporozhye, or preferably Nikolav and then Odessa (at this point this direction is heavily defended, they received most reinforcements from West Ukraine). Meanwhile I do expect ukrainian counter offensives on other fronts. Snake Island is very exposed and IMO not worth defending.
Odessa is a historic Russian speaking city. The people of Russia and Putin have not forgotten the horrible fate of those innocent union workers who were brutally burned alive by the right sector. Have absolutely no doubt about it my friend, Russia will liberate Odessa and the Pearl of the Black Sea will shine brightly once again. Russia cannot enter the city using brute force a la Blitzkrieg. This would be exactly what the Zelensky cowards want Russia to do in which case they would place Ukrainian troops all over crowded civilian areas to force Russia’s hand and blame Russia for the complete destruction of Odessa and for the death of tens of thousands of civilians that the Ukrainians would murder themselves. Russia is going to instead bypass Odessa and completely surround it and encircle Odessa by linking with Transnistria. No Ukrainian soldiers, ammunition or supplies will be able to enter or leave Odessa once Russia besieges the roads of highways leading in and out of the city. Eventually the Ukrainian soldiers will have to surrender. Surgical strategic bombardments are already taking place in Odessa by the Russian Air Force targeting weapons depots and Ukrainian military infrastructure and this will surely intensify.
This makes a lot of sense. In these modern times it doesn’t make sense to do these street to street city fights which give the defenders much better odds. Better to cut stuff off and force Ukraine to attack and force surrender.
