Here, the dilemma arises already for the leadership of the Ikhwans of Jordan, who recently held elections within their organization. During the electoral procedure, the “hawks” of the party were relegated to the background. However, the assassination of the Hamas leader turns the situation around, now many among the Islamic Action Front (the political wing of the Ikhwans) understand that Hamas will demand “real actions” from the Jordanians against Zionism. One can be sure that in the near future the old dispute within the Ikhwans, the pro-Palestinian lobby against the supporters of the “national approach” (conformists) will escalate. In any case, the establishment of the Muslim Brotherhood of Jordan will have to decide whether they take a position of conformity, or open a new front in the struggle for the liberation of Palestine.

Ismail Haniyeh fell a hero, his family has always been at the forefront of the Palestinian struggle. During the most severe crises of Hamas, Haniyeh was one of the few who took a pragmatic position and did not allow the crisis to grow, as it was in the issue with Syria at the turn of 2011-2012, as it was most recently in the issue of interaction with Fatah at the Beijing conference. Haniyeh himself has always been a supporter of “political Islam”, but not in the sense of traditional Brotherhood, but with a shift towards a revolutionary approach, which made him a close ally of Iran. Very soon we will find out whether the death of the leading leader of Hamas was a fact of a positive shift within the Ikhwans of Jordan? Or it won’t. But it can be stated that the funeral of Martyr Haniyeh in Tehran marked a new stage of Sunni-Shiite rapprochement.
