TOS-1A ‘Solntsepek’

During the international military forum “Army 2015” which took place in the Moscow region, a new modernized version of the TOS-1A was introduced. According to experts the version called “Solntsepek” is the best in the world of its kind.
The system comes with a BM-1, which has 24 guide tubes for 220 caliber thermobaric rockets, and with a TZM-T transport machine. The range of fire of “Solntsepek” is between 600 meters and 6km, depending on the rocket. The range of absolute destruction is to about 40 km2.

The purpose of this system is to eliminate the enemy on the open field as well as some light-armored and transport vehicles.

- Weight – 44,3 tons;
- Crew – 3 people;
- Maximum speed – 60km/h
- Operational range – 600km
The system has a central command system, navigation, satellite navigation systems L-1 and L-2, inertial meter, laser designator etc. The new things about the system are:
- Better aim of fire system;
- Better armor;
- New types of ammunition
- Extender range of fire
- The radius of every rocket has increased twice.
